    <title>BMW Motorrad presents the BMW F 450 GS</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-the-bmw-f-450-gs</link>
    <description>
The new BMW F 450 GS: BMW GS expertise in the 48 hp A2 class in the iconicBMW GS design.

The new BMW F 450 GS marks the next step in the GS model family, specifically addressing the 48 hp A2 class with proven GS technology and iconic design.

At the EICMA international motorcycle show, BMW Motorrad gave a preview of a fully-fledged GS model already in 2024, which specifically addresses the steadily growing market segment of medium-sized displacement motorcycles.

The series version of the BMW F 450 GS consistently lives up to this claim: It is a versatile all-rounder that combines everyday usability, sporty dynamic performance, touring comfort, and off-road capabilities. In the &quot;GS Trophy&quot; equipment variant, it follows in the footsteps of the concept vehicle. It adopts its striking design language and high-quality, high-tech components, including magnesium parts for maximum performance and low weight.

With its balanced power-to-torque ratio, low weight, and characteristic GS ergonomics, the F 450 GS provides riding fun and confidence from the first meter. The new F 450 GS thus combines the classic GS spirit with a modern, accessible, and simultaneously powerful approach.

&quot; With the BMW F 450 GS, we are addressing a particularly broad target audience. This motorcycle is aimed at anyone who valuesmaximum agility, versatility, pure riding pleasure, and cutting-edge technology regardless of whether they are on the road every day, on long tours, or simply looking for a light, dynamic, and uncomplicated bike. The current trend toward downsizing, i.e., switching from heavy motorcycles to compact and versatile machines, demonstrates the great interest in this segment. The F 450 GS offers the ideal combination of playful handling, maneuverability, riding dynamics, and high-quality equipment without compromising on quality or technical performance. - Astrid Neudecker, Product Manager BMW F 450 GS

The BMW Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) is a technical highlight and a further development of a centrifugal clutch. This system eliminates the need to manually operate the clutch lever while riding. This applies to all situations, from starting off and changing gears to demanding off-road maneuvers. BMW Motorrad is setting a new standard in this vehicle class.

A range of attractive options will be added at the time of market launch: The F 450 GS can be equipped with an Akrapovic end muffler and original BMW Motorrad cross-spoke wheels on request. The result is a package that combines sporty dynamic performance, technical innovation and GS DNA perfectly.

Performance developed from scratch: A confident companion for both road and off-road riding.
The completely redesigned BMW F 450 GS is a sporty adventure bike that complements the current BMW Motorrad model portfolio, with developers focusing on excellent handling characteristics, strong performance, durability, and optimum accessibility.

The design focuses on the consistent implementation of the current GS design language. With iconic features such as the LED headlight with &quot;X&quot; daytime riding light and the distinctive flyline, the bike&#039;s affiliation with the BMW Motorrad GS family is clear at first glance.

Completely redesigned, smooth-running and characterful two-cylinder in-line engine with 135-degree crankpin offset for dynamic riding pleasure on asphalt and off-road.
At the heart of the new BMW F 450 GS is a completely newly developed two-cylinder in-line engine with fuel injection and a stainless steel exhaust system on the right-hand side. The new F 450 GS impresses with its powerful performance and pulling power, delivering a power output of 35 kW (48 hp) at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 43 Nm at6,750 rpm.

Thanks to the use of high-tech materials and optimized internal friction, these performance values are achieved with exactly 420 cm. This makes the engine one of the most compact and powerful in the A2 two-cylinder segment. It not only meets the strict EU5+ requirements but is also particularly economical, consuming just 3.8 liters per 100 km. A range of over 350 km can be achieved in conjunction with the 14-liter tank. The maintenance interval is the standard 10,000 km for BMW motorcycles.

Unique on the motorcycle market, the engine features a crankshaft with crankpins offset by 135 degrees and, in conjunction with a single balance shaft, sets a technical exclamation mark: this design ensures a characterful, emotional ride while simultaneously reducing unwanted vibrations to an exceptionally low level.

Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) for a significant increase in dynamics, operating comfort, and riding comfort.
A technical highlight of the new BMW F 450 GS is the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC). Its core is a precision centrifugal unit in the clutch, which engages the clutch depending on engine speed.

This system is standard on the GS Trophy variant and available as an optional accessory for all other model variants. In combination with the Shift Assistant Pro, manual operation of the clutch lever is completely eliminated from starting off and gear changes to demanding maneuvers.

The clutch lever, however, remains intact and allows the rider to intervene manually at any time if necessary for example, to lift the front wheel over an obstacle or to improve control when descending on slippery surfaces.

Technologically, the ERC is based on an advanced centrifugal clutch. Unlike conventional systems, it remains closed during overrun. This creates natural, familiar, and predictable handling at all times comparable to a conventional clutch. The engine brake remains fully active until just before a stop; only when the idle speed is reached does the ERC automatically open, reliably preventing the engine from stalling.

The system ensures greater dynamics, control, and comfort whether maneuvering, in city traffic, on winding roads, or off-road.

Six-speed transmission and left-mounted secondary drive. Shift Assistant Pro for quick upshifts and downshifts without clutch operation.
The likewise newly designed six-speed transmission transmits torque to the left-hand secondary drive via an X-ring chain.
For fast upshifts and downshifts without clutch operation, the new F 450 GS is offered with Shift Assistant Pro in all equipment variants except the basic variant. This can be retrofitted to the basic version.

&quot;Rain,&quot; &quot;Road,&quot; and &quot;Enduro&quot; riding modes, as well as ABS Pro, DBC, DTC, and MSR (engine drag control), are standard features for a high level of riding enjoyment and safety. An additional &quot;Enduro Pro&quot; riding mode is available starting with the Exclusive trim variant.
The BMW F 450 GS offers three riding modes as standard: &quot;Rain&quot;, &quot;Road&quot; and &quot;Enduro&quot;, allowing the motorcycle to be adapted to suit individual preferences. Standard equipment also includes ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and engine drag torque control (MSR).

The additional Enduro Pro mode, which is used from the Exclusive equipment variant onwards, is designed for off-road use with coarse-tread off-road tires and allows the ABS on the rear wheel to be deactivated.

Newly developed chassis with tubular steel frame for optimal rigidity, robustness, and driving precision. Short wheelbase for agile and playful handling.
The new BMW F 450 GS also features a completely new chassis concept. Playful handling, optimum accessibility, high riding precision and riding stability were the developers&#039; top priorities. The specially developed lattice-tube frame of the
BMW F 450 GS consists of welded steel tubes and forged parts. The frame integrates the two-cylinder in-line engine as a supporting element and is designed to be lightweight yet robust.

The front wheel is guided via KYB upside-down telescopic forks, while the rear wheel is guided via an aluminum hollow cast double armed swinging arm with a KYB central spring strut featuring progressive damping.
Front wheel control is provided by a torsionally rigid KYB upside-down telescopic fork with a 43 mm inner tube diameter. The Sport and GS Trophy variants feature the so-called &quot;sports suspension.&quot; The fork is adjustable for rebound and compression damping. Rear wheel control is provided by a closed, and therefore extremely torsionally rigid, yet lightweight, hollow-cast aluminum double-sided swing arm, coupled with a directly connected KYB central spring strut (adjustable spring preload and rebound damping) with travel-dependent damping derived from rally racing, a unique feature in this segment.

Wheels and tires tailored to the typical BMW GS applications.
The new BMW F 450 GS features lightweight yet robust cast aluminum wheels. It is fitted with tubeless tires for road and off-road use, sized 100/90-19 at the front and130/80-17 at the rear. Additionally, the Original BMW Motorrad Accessories range offers cross-spoke wheels.

A powerful braking system combined with BMW Motorrad ABS Pro ensures safe braking even when leaning. Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and Dynamic Brake Light are additional safety features.
The front wheel of the new BMW F 450 GS features a floating single-disc brake with a Brembo 4-piston fixed caliper and a 310 mm brake disc diameter for superior, stable deceleration. A single disc brake with 1-piston floating caliper and 240 mm diameter is used on the rear wheel.

The new BMW F 450 GS already comes standard with BMW Motorrad ABS Pro. ABS Pro also offers increased safety when braking in curves by enabling ABS-assisted braking while leaning. Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) offers increased safety when braking, even in difficult situations, by preventing unintentional throttle application. The dynamic brake light effectively alerts following vehicles to the braking motorcycle ahead.

Optimal ergonomics and equipment for comfortable, playful, and agile motorcycling on and off-road.
A sophisticated ergonomic triangle and a high, close-to-the-body handlebar made of tapered aluminum tubing ensure an ideal riding position in all conditions. The body and the 14-liter fuel tank below it are designed for optimal support and good knee contact, both when seated and while standing off-road. A wide range of accessories are available to meet the individual needs of riders, including a handlebar riser, a rally seat, and the option of a low seat.

Three different seat variants, adjustable hand levers, a handlebar riser, and secure footrests with height-adjustable gearshift and footbrake levers ensure optimal riding comfort both on and off-road.
The new BMW F 450 GS comes with a two-part seat (845 mm) as standard. The low Black rider&#039;s seat (830 mm) and the high Rallye seat in Black/White/Red (865 mm), available as part of the Original BMW Motorrad Accessories, can be adapted to individual requirements. The standard adjustable handlebar levers and the optional 20 mm handlebar risers made of high-strength anodized silver aluminum offer further adjustment options.

The new BMW F 450 GS comes standard with a footrest system with removable rubber grips, whose serrated profile makes it suitable for off-road use. A very practical feature is the easy height adjustment of the foot brake lever by 20 mm in two positions to suit individual needs for on- and off-road riding. The gearshift lever is also height-adjustable.

Wider enduro footrests are included starting with the Exclusive version or are available as optional accessories

High touring and everyday performance thanks to sophisticated vehicle and weather protection, as well as a comprehensive storage concept.
The modular design of the available windshields (optional accessories) allows for individual customization. Depending on the intended use and personal preference, you can choose between the high Tour windshield (height-adjustable) and the clear or tinted Rally windshield. This allows the comfort and wind and weather protection of the new BMW F 450 GS to be tailored specifically to individual needs.

In the event of a fall or tip-over, Original BMW Motorrad Accessories offer effective ways to protect your motorcycle from damage, including engine guards, engine protection bars, front axle protectors, and other protective components.

The diverse range of special accessories whether side bags, tail bags, luggage rolls, tank bags, luggage racks, or top cases offers maximum flexibility for every application.

Powerful LED light units as standard. Connectivity featuring a large, perfectly readable 6.5-inch TFT display that provides comprehensive information and functionality. Practical USB-C socket in the cockpit area.
The new BMW F 450 GS features an LED headlight with an iconic &quot;X&quot; daytime riding light signature as standard. The turn indicator and control lamps of the F 450 GS also use LED technology.

A large 6.5-inch TFT display is also standard on the new BMW F 450 GS. The variety of information, display quality, and, last but not least, user-friendliness are premium. The BMW CE 04 - the electric champion for the city. Like no other, it combines the latest electromobility technologies with emotion and great riding pleasure.

Manufactured at the BMW Group plant in Berlin, the birthplace of BMW motorcycles, the BMW CE 04 is packed with innovative technologies, particularly in terms of its drive and control systems, for which the BMW Group has filed several patent applications. With its electric drive, forward-looking design and innovative connectivity solutions, this scooter merges transport and communication functions and promises a great riding experience.

Plenty of power and ample range for supreme riding in the city and in urban areas.

With a maximum output of 31 kW (42 hp), the BMW CE 04 has a powerful motor and offers outstanding riding pleasure. For the classic traffic light start discipline from
0 to 50 km/h, it takes just fast 2.6 seconds. Even in the reduced output L3e-A1 vehicle class, 23 kW (31 hp) drive power is available. The maximum speed of both versions is
120 km/h for speedy progress not just in the city but on main roads and motorway sections, too.

The BMW CE 04 has an ample battery cell capacity of 60.6 Ah (8.9 kWh), providing a range of some 130 kilometres (reduced output version: 100 km). This enables day-to-day emission-free riding in the city, in an urban setting and for smaller-scale fun tours after work or at the weekend with complete peace of mind.

Innovative electric drive with liquid-cooled electric motor.

The BMW CE 04 has a permanent magnet electric motor mounted in the frame between the battery and the rear wheel, as used in a similar form in BMW cars such as the
225xe Active Tourer. BMW Motorrad conducted extensive riding tests to develop a specific type of recuperation for each riding mode, giving the rider a high-level convenience. This means that optimum performance and riding characteristics are available in every situation on the road.

Short charging times and charging technology based on the system used in cars.

The lithium-ion battery is charged using the integrated charging device either at a regular household socket, a wallbox or a public charging station. When the battery is completely flat, charging time ideally lasts 4 hours and 20 minutes. With the quick charger available as an optional extra with an output of up to 6.9 kW (2.3 kW is the standard level), charging time is reduced to just 1 hour and 40 minutes when the battery is completely flat. If the battery level is only 20 per cent and the battery is charged to 80 per cent, the charging time is reduced to just 45 minutes with the optional quick charger. Depending on the market, the standard charging cable with a charging capacity of 2.3 kW comes as standard with the BMW CE 04.

A Mode 3 charging cable is required for fast charging at the wallbox at home or at a public charging station. In the same way as with BMW automobiles, BMW Charging solutions are available for the BMW CE 04, too for maximum flexibility based on numerous customised programmes for charging at home, on the road and at work.

Increased riding stability through slip control by means of ASC (Automatic Stability Control). DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) as an ex works option.

Similar to the ASC system found on BMW motorcycles with combustion engines, this traction control system is also available on the BMW CE 04. ASC limits the engine torque depending on the rear wheel slip. DTC, which is available as an option, provides even greater riding safety. DTC enables even more efficient and safe acceleration, especially in banking position.

Three riding modes &quot;ECO&quot;, &quot;RAIN&quot; and &quot;ROAD&quot; for efficient, everyday use as standard. DYNAMIC riding mode for further enhanced riding pleasure as an ex works option.

In developing the BMW CE 04, BMW Motorrad attached particular importance to providing opportunities for the rider to make an individual choice between maximum efficiency and maximum riding fun. Accordingly, the new BMW CE 04 features the three riding modes ECO, RAIN and ROAD as standard. The additional DYNAMIC riding mode is also available as an ex works option, enabling the scooter to accelerate at an even swifter pace.

Directionally stable suspension with one-piece tubular steel main frame for smooth handling and a high level of ride comfort.

The main frame is a tubular steel construction. The front wheel is controlled by a telescopic fork with a slider tube diameter of 35 mm. Rear wheel control consists of a single-sided swing arm. At the rear, suspension and damping are performed by a directly controlled, fully covered spring strut. The BMW CE 04 is fitted with generously sized tyres, with 120/70 R15 67H at the front and 160/60 R15 56H at the rear.

Powerful brake system with latest-generation ABS. ABS Pro with banking capability as an ex works option.

At the front, a twin disc brake ensures secure deceleration, supported by a single-disc system at the rear. In addition, BMW Motorrad ABS ensures a high level of active safety. ABS Pro, available as an optional extra, goes even further: By means of a banking sensor, ABS Pro also controls braking on bends, thereby offering the greatest possible safety.

10.25 TFT colour screen with integrated map navigation for convenient route planning and extensive connectivity as standard.

The BMW CE 04 comes fitted as standard with a 10.25-inch TFT colour screen with integrated map navigation and connectivity. Its excellent readability, clear menu navigation and highly integrated operating concept put the BMW CE 04 at the top of the scooter segment. For the first time, the new 10.25-inch colour screen makes it possible to display a navigation map in the instrument cluster, so no additional display is needed.

Powerful LED lighting units all round. Adaptive Headlight Pro and light functions as ex works options.

The lighting units on the BMW CE 04 are based on state-of-the-art LED technology. They include a headlamp for high beam and low beam at the front. In addition to a rear light featuring LED technology, there are also LED turn indicators. The indicator lamps likewise use LED technology. Even greater safety at night is offered by the adaptive turning light Headlight Pro, available as an ex works option. Here, the rider benefits from further improved illumination of the road when cornering for even safer riding at night. Special light functions such as Welcome and Good Bye are also available as ex works options.

Future-oriented design and colour scheme.

The BMW CE 04&#039;s design embodies a forward-looking form of urban two-wheel mobility and uses an innovative design language that evokes emotion for this drive technology, immediately identifying it as part of the BMW Motorrad family. The modern surface treatment is impressively presented in Lightwhite non-metallic and is complemented by matt black sections in the front and side areas, as well as the floating seat. There are also pioneering wheels designed to look like disc wheels (solid wheels) and a side stand integrated into the design.

The highlights of the BMW CE 04:

Nominal continuous output 15 kW (20 hp). Maximum output 31 kW (42 hp). Low-power version: 11 kW (15 hp) or 23 kW (31 hp).

The new BMW R 1300 RS: The new sports tourer with boxer engine, featuring refined technology and styling, along with a dynamic design that signals sporty flair. Four attractive model variants.

The goal behind developing the new BMW R 1300 RS was to achieve both a visual and technical enhancement of the sports touring bike with boxer engine. Alongside its much sportier design, equipment features such as the Performance variant including a sport suspension, short hand levers, milled and adjustable footrests, DTC-Shift, two additional sport screens, sport seat, engine spoiler and sport tyres allow customers to dial up the bikes dynamic potential even further. At the same time, the BMW R 1300 RS remains a capable companion for everyday use and touring, and with options such as seat heating, Riding Assistant, a higher windscreen, and a variety of luggage choices, the bike can be perfectly tailored to individual needs of this type.

In addition to the basic version in Racing Blue metallic, the BMW R 1300 RS is also available as the Triple Black model variant in Blackstorm metallic, the sport-focused Performance variant in Lightwhite uni, and the premium Option 719 Cuyamaca variant in Brooklyn Grey metallic.

Sporty ergonomics and equipment for both dynamic riding fun on country roads as well as comfortable touring and travel.

The BMW Motorrad developers set out to make the new BMW R 1300 RS significantly more dynamic and sporty than its predecessor a goal the new sports touring bike with boxer engine fulfils not only in terms of design, engine and chassis: equal importance was also placed on ergonomics, with a focus on creating a sportier, more active riding position.

Accordingly, the ergonomic triangle formed by handlebars, footrests and seat on the new R 1300 RS has been designed to position the rider noticeably further forward over the front wheel thanks to slightly rear-set footrests and flatter handlebars. This results in particular in improved feedback from the front end, especially during sporty riding, and therefore even greater controllability. At the same time, the sporty seating position still allows for relaxed touring and travel, even with a passenger. For a more touring-oriented riding position, the optional comfort handlebars are also available.

Various seat options and comfort handlebars allow for an optimised seating position. Featuring electrified cases and topcase, along with a clever tank bag, a new luggage system ensures a comfortable experience on extended tours and holiday trips.

Since the launch of the BMW R 100 RS in 1976, BMW RS models with boxer engines have earned a legendary reputation for perfectly combining sporty motorcycling, the thrill of cornering and comfortable touring. For this reason, the new BMW R 1300 RS not only features a new luggage system, but also offers a wide range of seat variants and optional comfort handlebars to meet the individual ergonomic needs of all riders. In addition to the standard riders seat, five others are available as individual items of optional equipment ex works.

For touring and holiday trips, the new BMW R 1300 RS can be equipped ex works with case holders and a topcase carrier, while a newly developed case system and topcase are available as part of the Original BMW Motorrad Accessories range. The cases offer a capacity of 26 and 29 litres respectively, while the topcase holds 39 litres. The two cases and the topcase are electrified and can be unlocked using the central locking system. Both the cases and the topcase also feature interior lighting, while the left-hand case and the topcase additionally include a USB-C charging port. The tank bag is also new. The boxer engine in the new BMW R 1300 RS has a capacity of exactly 1 300 cc while the ratio between bore and stroke is 106.5 to 73 mm (predecessor: 102.5 to 76 mm). This increase in capacity derives from an enlarged cylinder bore and a new crankshaft with reduced stroke. It has an output of 107 kW (145 hp) (predecessor: 100 kW (136 hp), still at 7 750 rpm, and develops a maximum torque of 149 Nm at 6 500 rpm (predecessor:
143 Nm at 6 250 rpm), making it by far the most powerful serial production BMW boxer engine to date. Its maximum engine speed is 9 000 rpm.

Three riding modes are included as standard, allowing the bike to adapt ideally to any road conditions. Riding Modes Pro with the additional modes Dynamic and Dynamic Pro, along with riding mode pre-selection as optional equipment ex works. Engine drag torque control (MSR) as standard.

In standard trim, the new R 1300 RS has three riding modes for adaptation to individual rider preferences. The Rain and Road riding modes allow riding characteristics to be adapted to most road conditions. The Eco riding mode also makes it possible to use the innovative BMW ShiftCam technology primarily in such a way that the maximum range can be achieved with a single tank of fuel. On request the new R 1300 RS can also be fitted with the optional equipment item Riding Modes Pro ex works. Among other things, this comprises the additional riding modes Dynamic and Dynamic Pro. With the riding mode pre-selection the rider can use the riding mode button to make an individual selection. In this way, a preferred and easily manageable number of riding modes can be configured and selected while riding.

Engine drag torque control (MSR) is on board even in standard trim. This can be used to safely avoid unstable riding conditions that can occur during coasting or downshifting due to excessive brake slip at the rear wheel. In these cases, MSR instantly opens the throttle valves to such an extent that drag torque is equalised and the motorcycle stabilises.

Automated shift assistant (ASA) with fully automated clutch operation and manual or automated shifting for an enhanced motorcycling experience as optional equipment.

With the automated shift assistant (ASA), BMW Motorrad offers an innovative technical solution to make motorcycling easier and more comfortable. True to the motto Simplify your Ride, automated clutch operation and gear changes puts the riding experience even more front and centre without sacrificing the dynamic of the shifting process.

Completely newly developed chassis with sheet metal main frame made of steel and aluminium rear frame.

The chassis of the new BMW R 1300 RS has been completely redesigned. The centrepiece is the new sheet metal main frame made of steel, which in addition to a significant optimisation of the installation space for even more compact packaging also offers higher levels of stiffness than the predecessor model. In the course of the redesign, the rear frame was also completely reconceived. In place of the previous tubular steel construction, the new R 1300 RS now has a rear frame made of die-cast aluminium.

In combination with a drive unit that is now much more compact, the new design of the chassis achieved a significant concentration of mass towards the overall centre of gravity, which is reflected in noticeable handling benefits. At the same time, the new R 1300 RS is even more precise and stable when braking, requires noticeably less effort to ride, and offers an even more satisfyingly precise response of the suspension elements.

New upside-down telescopic fork and new EVO Paralever rear suspension for even greater precision. New wheels more than 1.4 kg lighter.

In the new BMW R 1300 RS, front wheel guide is handled by a new upside-down telescopic fork with an inner tube diameter of 47 mm. The rear wheel guide of the new
R 1300 RS has also been redesigned. The hallmark of the Evo Paralever is a significantly stiffer connection via the suspension in the frame and a continuous swinging arm quick-release axle.

The new R 1300 RS also features new 17-inch aluminium cast wheels with hollow-spoke design. All in all they weigh in at more than 1.4 kg less than the existing wheels. The reduced rotational masses result in both improved acceleration and brake response as well as optimised handling qualities.

New electronic Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA), with dynamic adjustment of the damping, spring rate and load compensation as optional equipment. The worlds first series production motorcycle telescopic fork with adjustable spring rate.

With its dynamic adjustment of the damping and adjustable spring rest at the rear, the standard electronic Dynamic ESA itself offers a high level of ride safety and riding fun on a wide variety of terrains.

The electronic Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) now goes one step further, combining the dynamic adjustment of the front and rear damping with a corresponding adjustment of the spring rate (spring stiffness) depending on the selected riding mode, riding condition and manoeuvres. After the new R 1300 R presented a few weeks ago, this makes the new BMW R 1300 RS the second series production motorcycle with an upside-down telescopic fork that allows adjustment of the spring rate. Automatic load compensation is provided by the adjustable spring rest. With DSA, the rider benefits from even more refined handling and increased banking freedom in Dynamic mode.

A high-performance braking system in conjunction with Integral ABS Pro comes as standard. Sport brake as optional equipment ex works.

The new R 1300 RS comes as standard with a twin disc brake featuring two radially mounted four-piston fixed callipers at the front and a single disc brake with two-piston floating calliper at the rear in conjunction with BMW Motorrad Integral ABS Pro. The new BMW R 1300 RS can be fitted with the sport brake system as optional equipment ex works. In addition to a sportier look with titanium-coloured brake callipers, it offers a slight increase in braking performance.

Standard full LED headlight with separate high beam and state-of-the-art LED light units all round. For the first time on a BMW RS, Headlight Pro with adaptive turning light is available as optional equipment ex works.

BMW Motorrad is regarded as the pioneer par excellence when it comes to motorcycling safety and related innovations. Accordingly, the new R 1300 RS comes as standard with a newly designed twin-chamber LED headlight in a very slim, sporty design featuring a distinctive light icon. The lighting unit comprises two LED elements for the low beam and two additional, separately positioned LED elements for the high beam. Two more LED units are provided for the daytime running light and side light. State-of-the-art LED light units with newly designed LED rear light round off the lighting concept of the new
R 1300 RS.

With the optional Adaptive Turning Light, the dipped beam of the standard full LED headlight is optimised for cornering, depending on the banking position, by activating additional LED elements. In this way, the bend is almost fully illuminated because the light moves to where the motorcycle is heading. By optimising the light pattern, the dipped beam light ensures an even wider and more homogeneous illumination of the road.

Riding Assistant with Active Cruise Control (ACC), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Change Warning (SWW) and Rear End Collision Warning (RECW) for more convenient and safer motorcycling as optional equipment ex works.

    <title>BMW Motorrad presents the new BMW R 1300 RT.</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-the-new-bmw-r-1300-rt</link>
    <description>
The new BMW R 1300 RT: Wider range from comfortable tourer to dynamic country road motorcycle. Dynamic design language with optimised wind and weather protection.

With the new BMW R 1300 RT, weve taken the touring icon from BMW Motorrrad to a whole new level. It is lighter in design, more accessible and more dynamic than ever before. In addition, with a completely new engine, chassis and aerodynamics, it offers a riding experience that meets the highest demands in this segment in terms of dynamics, comfort and travel capability.&quot;- Harald Spagl, Project Manager BMW R 1300 RT.

The new BMW R 1300 RT follows in the footsteps of its highly successful predecessor. It continues to build on the proven qualities of the BMW RT, such as touring capability and riding comfort - alone, as a pair or with plenty of luggage.

At the same time, the new R 1300 RT has broadened its usage profile by making its dynamic systems even more prominent. Sporty optional equipment such as the sport brake, the enhanced Shift Assistant Pro and the newly developed DCA electronic suspension allow an even more active and dynamic riding style. The range of optional extras is complemented by the Automated Shift Assistant ASA, which can be ridden in a sporty and dynamic manual mode, but also allows comfortable riding in automatic mode. All this, combined with a more dynamic and visually lighter design, promises to continue the success story of the BMW RT.

The wind and weather protection concept of the new R 1300 RT includes adjustable side trim that is homogeneously integrated into the design. This makes it possible to provide the rider with an adequate supply of fresh air at all times, even in challenging conditions such as city traffic or high outside temperatures on country roads, and to offer highly effective protection from the wind and weather at low temperatures when riding on the highway or motorway.

In addition to the basic version in Alpine White 3 uni colour, the new BMW R 1300 RT is available in the Triple Black model variant in Blackstorm metallic, the emphatically dynamic Impulse model variant in Racing Blue metallic and the particularly elegant model variant Option 719 Camargue in Blue Ridge Mountain metallic.

Perfect ergonomics and equipment for comfortable and dynamic travelling and touring.

The BMW R 1300 RT&#039;s design, engine and chassis are not the only aspects of the BMW touring icon that reflect the BMW Motorrad development team&#039;s ambition to expand the range of possible uses of the new BMW R 1300 RT and make it even more dynamic. Equal importance was also placed on ergonomics, with a focus on creating a more active riding position.

Accordingly, the ergonomic triangle formed by handlebars, footrests and seat on the new R 1300 RT have been designed to position the rider noticeably further forward. This results in improved feedback from the front section and therefore even greater controllability during dynamic riding. At the same time, the more active seating position still allows for relaxed touring and cruising, even with a passenger. The height and angle of the rider&#039;s seat can be adjusted to fine-tune the riding position. Passenger comfort has also been significantly improved. The new cases now offer more space for the passengers lower legs without compromising the volume of the cases. The passenger seat has also been lengthened. There is now more space to change your seating position from time to time on longer trips.

A choice of different seat heights for optimum riding comfort and a new luggage system with electric cases and topcase. Additional variable-volume case system for optimum customisation.

As usual, BMW Motorrad&#039;s engineers have paid particular attention to easy access and a low seat height. For this reason, the development of the new R 1300 RT placed particular focus on achieving a seat height of only 780 mm. The inner leg curve is also significantly smaller than on the previous model. In addition to the standard seat, other seats are available as individual items of optional equipment ex works.

The new BMW R 1300 RT is equipped as standard with cases (27 litres each) for touring and holiday trips. Further highlights of the new R 1300 RT are the Vario cases, available ex works for the first time as an optional equipment for a BMW RT. The variable luggage system allows the volume to be adjusted from 27 to 33 litres to suit the width of the motorcycle. Both cases are electrified and can be unlocked using the central locking system. They also both feature interior lighting, and the left-hand case includes a USB-C charging port. The two topcases with a capacity of 39 and 54 litres respectively offer additional storage space. The large 54-litre luggage compartment is also electric. A special feature is the heated backrest for the passenger.

Rugged boxer engine with top figures for power output and torque along with optimised running smoothness and efficiency.

The boxer engine in the new BMW R 1300 RT has a capacity of exactly 1,300 cc while the ratio between bore and stroke is 106.5 to 73 mm (predecessor: 102.5 to 76 mm). This increase in capacity derives from an enlarged cylinder bore and a new crankshaft with reduced stroke. 143 Nm at 6,250 rpm), making it by far the most powerful serial production BMW boxer engine to date. Its maximum engine speed is 9,000 rpm.

In standard trim, the new R 1300 RT has three riding modes for adaptation to individual rider preferences. The Rain and Road riding modes allow riding characteristics to be adapted to most road conditions. The Eco riding mode also makes it possible to use the innovative BMW ShiftCam technology primarily in such a way that the maximum range can be achieved with a single tank of fuel. On request the new R 1300 RT can also be fitted with the optional equipment item Riding Modes Pro ex works: among other things, this comprises the additional riding modes Dynamic and Dynamic Pro.

In these cases, the engine drag control instantly opens the throttle valves to such an extent that drag torque is equalised and the motorcycle stabilises.

True to the motto Simplify your Ride, automated clutch operation and gear changes puts the riding experience even more front and centre - without sacrificing the dynamics of the shifting process.

Completely newly developed chassis with sheet metal main frame made of steel and aluminium rear frame.

The chassis of the new BMW R 1300 RT has been completely redesigned. The centrepiece is the new sheet metal main frame made of steel, which in addition to a significant optimisation of the installation space for even more compact packaging also offers higher levels of stiffness than the predecessor model. In the course of the redesign, the rear frame was also completely reconceived. In place of the previous tubular steel construction, the new R 1300 RT now has an aluminium lattice tube rear frame.

In combination with a drive unit that is now much more compact, the new design of the chassis achieved a significant concentration of mass towards the overall centre of gravity, which is reflected in noticeable handling benefits. At the same time, the new R 1300 RT is even more precise and stable when braking, requires noticeably less effort to ride, and offers an even more satisfyingly precise response of the suspension elements.

The best of both worlds: EVO Telelever front wheel guide with flex element and new EVO Paralever rear wheel guide for even greater steering precision and ride stability. New wheels more than 1.4 kg lighter.

The front wheel guide in the new R 1300 RT follows the Telelever principle introduced by BMW Motorrad 30 years ago - but in an innovative, newly designed form that combines the best of both worlds.

With the Evo Telelever, BMW Motorrad now combines the strengths of the two previously used Telelever variants in the new BMW R 1300 RT. Clamped tightly to the fork tubes - as previously in the sporty design - the upper fork construction (as in the GS) incorporates a handlebar decoupling system that prevents any detrimental tilting movement and only transmits steering forces.

The rear wheel guide of the new R 1300 RT has also been redesigned. The hallmark of the Evo Paralever is a significantly stiffer connection via the suspension in the frame and a continuous swinging arm quick-release axle.

The new R 1300 RT features new 17-inch aluminium cast wheels with hollow-spoke design. All in all they weigh in at more than 1.4 kg less than the existing wheels.

New electronic suspension Dynamic Chassis Adaption (DCA) for two rider-selectable riding positions for maximum spread between ride comfort and dynamic handling as well as with dynamic adjustment of damping, spring rate and load equalisation as optional equipment ex works.

Even the standard Dynamic ESA electronic chassis offers a high level of riding safety and riding enjoyment on a wide variety of road surfaces thanks to dynamic adjustment of the damping and load-dependent adjustment of the rear spring preload.

The electronic Dynamic Chassis Adaption (DCA) now goes one step further and, in addition to the familiar Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) options - such as dynamic adjustment of damping, spring rate and load equalisation - offers two rider-selectable riding positions via the riding modes for maximum spread between ride comfort and dynamic handling. This makes for an even more thrilling riding experience in all conditions.

DCA has been developed with equal emphasis on dynamic performance and comfort. The new semi-active chassis offers two different riding positions. One riding position has a flat steering head angle and therefore a chassis geometry designed to maximise riding stability and smoothness. The second riding position features firmer damping tuning, a higher spring rate and a higher ride height. Raising the rear end more than the front results in a steeper steering head angle and reduced castor, making the motorcycle easier to steer and handle. DCA makes these two different chassis geometries possible and combines them with the riding modes.

A high-performance braking system in conjunction with Integral ABS Pro comes as standard. Sport brake as optional equipment ex works.

The R 1300 RT comes as standard with a twin disc brake featuring two radially mounted four-piston fixed callipers at the front and a single disc brake with two-piston floating calliper at the rear in conjunction with BMW Motorrad Integral ABS Pro. The new
BMW R 1300 RT can be fitted with the sport brake system as optional equipment ex works. In addition to a sportier look with titanium-coloured brake callipers, it offers a slight increase in braking performance.

New full LED headlights and state-of-the-art LED light units feature all round. Headlight Pro with adaptive headlight and pitch compensation as well as adaptive light modes with intelligent adjustment of the alignment and intensity of the low beam to different riding situations are available as optional equipment ex works.

For decades now, BMW Motorrad has been regarded as a frontrunner when it comes to safety in connection with motorcycling. Accordingly, the new R 1300 RT comes with state-of-the-art LED light units all around as standard. The new full LED headlamp which illuminates the road with unrivalled brightness and clarity, underlines the prestige of the new R 1300 RT. The light unit consists of an LED module with multiple LEDs for low beam and high beam. The daytime running light or position light icon (depending on the market), which is positioned to the left and right of the headlamp, provides a distinctive look.

Headlight Pro goes one step further available as optional equipment ex works. In addition to the adaptive headlight, the headlamp of the new R 1300 RT also features pitch compensation - for example when accelerating and decelerating as well as for levelling the riding position in DCA. Headlight Pro features a servomotor that automatically and actively adjusts the position of the cut-off line to keep the vertical inclination within the optimum range when the load or load status changes.

Headlight Pro can be further enhanced with the optional Adaptive Light Modes (depending on market), which offer lighting technology that intelligently adapts the direction and intensity of the low beam to different riding situations. The Adaptive Lighting Modes provide optimum lighting conditions for night-time riding with speed-dependent road illumination. Lighting is provided in several stages: for low, medium and high speeds. Intelligent adaptation to speed and riding conditions increases safety and helps to guide the rider.

Riding Assistant with Active Cruise Control (ACC), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Change Warning (SWW) and Rear End Collision Warning (RECW) for convenient and safe motorcycling as optional equipment ex works.

The new R 1300 RT is already equipped with Dynamic Cruise Control (DCC) with braking function as standard. The Riding Assistant offers many more functions as an optional extra ex works. It consists of Active Cruise Control (ACC), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Change Warning (SWW) and Rear End Collision Warning (RECW).

The R 1300 RT comes fitted as standard with a 10.25-inch TFT colour screen with integrated map navigation and newly developed Connectivity Hub. With maximum connectivity, excellent readability, clear menu navigation and a highly integrated operating concept, the new R 1300 RT maintains its leading position among production motorcycles.

The tiles shown can be used to select the My Motorcycle, Radio, Navigation, Media, Phone and Settings menus. A new feature is the Connectivity Hub &quot;tile&quot; for connecting current and future accessories such as smart glasses, heated vests and lightweight jackets. This simplifies the operation of the accessories.

The new R 1300 RT comes as standard with an actively ventilated smartphone charging compartment located within the rider&#039;s reach. It is even easier to open than its predecessor and can accommodate much larger smartphones. The smartphone battery is charged via a USB-C interface. The lid also has a clip that can be used for a debit card or banknotes.

Audio System and Audio Pro available as optional extras ex-works for outstanding sound.

With the Audio System, the new R 1300 RT offers an even more intense sound experience. It features a high level of integration with the vehicle&#039;s electrical system. The menu control, setting options and unique display concept make the audio experience perfect in terms of interaction as well. <title>BMW Motorrad presents the new R 18 models</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-the-new-r-18-models</link>
<description>Offering increased torque, the Big Boxer now complies with Euro 5+ in all BMW R 18 models.
A revision of the engine control now ensures compliance with the Euro 5+ standard. The maximum torque of the 67 kW (91 hp) 1,802 cc Big Boxer has been increased by 5 Nm to 163 Nm at 3,000 rpm. From 2,000 to 4,000 rpm, more than 150 Nm of torque is available at any time an absolutely superior source of riding pleasure.

BMW R 18: custom cruiser staged in modern, dynamic style.
As a cruiser, the revised BMW R 18 is now purist but also more contemporary. Featuring newly crafted designs for the front and rear wheel covers along with an 18-inch rear wheel (previously 16-inch) and a new wheel design featuring seven double spokes, the R 18 has a more dynamic appearance that goes even further in emphasising its authentic cruiser character. The wheels are also optionally available as Contrast Cut Wheels. Here, the cast aluminum wheels are given a glossy polish and then sealed with clear finish. The familiar 19/16 spoked wheel combination is still available as an option.

Extending over the entire length of the tank on the top, the sculpture of the iconic fuel tank is seamlessly continued at the rear fender and ends at the level of the BMW emblem. Having previously stylised the classic round arch, the front fender now has a much more modern and dynamic appearance due to a sculptural surface elevation. All three body components now look as if they have been cast from a single piece. The side cover perfectly matches this design style with its more marked side contour. The more modern styling is also reflected in the rough look of the fork section, the fork tubes now free and without classic fork sleeves.

Other features that harmonise with the more dynamic design style are the new silencers with a circular cross-section and the newly designed individual seat with foam that is 10 mm thicker and with modified design contours. The significantly more comfortable seat is removable and can be conveniently unlocked using a push button concealed under the cover.

In order to ensure a more comfortable ride, the spring strut has a new set-up in terms of its spring/damping rates. This was applied together with the new 18-inch rear wheel, with the new tyre dimension 180/55 B 18 to match. Other new features include the now standard daytime running lights (depending on the market) and a USB-C charging socket.

The basic version of the BMW R 18 features a silver powertrain, a chrome-plated exhaust system and black cast aluminum wheels. The body colour is Blackstorm Metallic.

In the Option 719 Olivine variant available ex works as optional equipment, the R 18 has a black powertrain, the Aero design package, surface-enhanced Option 719 Icon cast wheels (19/16), a chrome-plated exhaust system and the Option 719 seat. The body finish is Velvet Green Metallic.

The BMW R 18 Blacked Out equipment variant is new and features black elements almost throughout.

BMW R 18 Classic: even more classic and authentic.
The BMW R 18 Classic likewise benefits from a refined design style to further hone its character as a nostalgic touring bike. The most striking new feature is the front mudguard adopted from the R 18 B in conjunction with a 19-inch spoke front wheel (previously 16-inch). The front fender now incorporates the mudguard extension, which has been significantly lowered for a stylish effect. The new fender not only harmonises with the fork sleeves still available for the R 18 Classic but also confidently underlines its affiliation to the nostalgic touring segment. Together with newly designed side covers and rear silencers featuring a circular cross-section, the R 18 Classic now has an even more classic and authentic appearance. Other new features include daytime running lights as standard (depending on the market) and a USB-C charging socket.

The basic version of the BMW R 18 Classic has a powertrain finished in silver, a chrome-plated exhaust system, spoked wheels (19/16) and fork tube trim elements. The body finishes are Blackstorm Metallic and Mineral Grey Metallic Matt.

In the Option 719 Aquamarine variant available ex works as optional equipment, the
R 18 Classic features a silver powertrain, the Aero design package, surface-enhanced Option 719 Icon cast wheels (19/16), the front mudguard of the R 18 Transcontinental, fork tube trim elements, a chrome-plated exhaust system and the Option 719 seat. The body colour is a two-tone paint finish in Blue Planet Metallic/Oriental Blue Metallic.

The BMW R 18 Classic Blacked Out equipment variant is new and features black elements almost throughout.

BMW R 18 und R 18 Classic Blacked Out: black, elegant and powerfully expressive.
In the Blacked Out variant available ex works as optional equipment, the BMW R 18 and R 18 Classic look particularly elegant and powerfully expressive with a range of equipment features in Black High Gloss and Dark Chrome.

The Blacked Out optional equipment includes the black powertrain, the Design Option Black, the exhaust system in Dark Chrome and other components in Black High Gloss or Dark Chrome

The BMW R 18 Blacked Out is available in the colours Blackstorm Metallic, Mineral Grey Metallic Matt and Two-Tone Brooklyn Grey. The R 18 Classic Blacked Out is finished in Two-Tone Brooklyn Grey Metallic.

    <title>BMW Motorrad presents the BMW R 12 S</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-the-bmw-r-12-s</link>
    <description>
With the BMW R 12 S, BMW Motorrad is expanding its Heritage range with a fitting tribute to the iconic R 90 S, which in 1973 not only set a sporty exclamation mark for BMW Motorrad with 67 hp and a top speed of 200 km/h in terms of riding dynamics.

Moreover, the then Chief Designer Hans A. Muth skillfully expressed the sporty ambitions in the design language and sent the BMW R 90 S, as the world&#039;s first production motorcycle, with a handlebar fairing designed according to aerodynamic aspects and a red-laid &quot;90&quot; in the R 90 S emblem of the engine, successfully into the race for the buyers&#039; favor.

Racing successes helped the BMW R 90 S to achieve an iconic image.

It did not take long for the image of the R 90 S to also benefit from racing successes. For example, at the Production TT on the Isle of Man, where Hans-Otto Butenuth and Helmut Dhne celebrated a class victory in 1976. In the same year, Steve McLaughlin also won the prestigious 200 Miles of Daytona, and his teammate Reg Pridmore became the first AMA Superbike Champion in history. Also for this reason, an R 90 S is today, as it was then, one of the particularly sought-after BMW motorcycles.

The BMW R 12 S transfers the spirit of the R 90 S into the here and now.

More than the Concept Ninety study presented by BMW Motorrad in May 2013, the new BMW R 12 S takes up the spirit of the R 90 S in its overall concept as well as in many details and transfers it skillfully into the present day. Based on the R 12 nineT, it embodies an authentic and sporty retro bike and utilizes several ingredients that make up a skillful homage to the R 90 S.

&quot; The defining design elements of our R 12 S include the handlebar-mounted cockpit fairing with the tinted windshield, the seat with contrast stitching, and the Lavaorange metallic paint finish as a nod to the legendary R 90 S Daytona Orange from 1975. The design is perfectly complemented by details such as the red-laid &#039;S&#039; on the side covers, the red double line, and the brushed and clear-lacquered aluminum surfaces of the tank and seat hump,&quot; explains Alexander Buckan, Head of BMW Motorrad Design.

Generous standard equipment with Option 719 Wheel Classic II, Billet packs Shadow and Shadow II, Headlight Pro, Shift Assistant Pro, and much more.

The claim to a sporty retro bike is underlined by the R 12 S with numerous standard product features such as the Option 719 Classic II wheels with wire spokes and shiny, naturally anodized aluminum rims, as well as other high-quality components. The handlebars and fork tubes are in black, and the components of the Billet packs Shadow and Shadow II set particularly high-quality technical accents. Components of the Billet pack Shadow are the left and right ignition coil covers, the oil filler screw, and the cylinder head covers coated in Avus black metallic matt. The Billet pack Shadow II includes the footrest system including foot brake and gear shift levers, the pillion footrests, the hand brake and clutch levers, the expansion tank covers for the front brake and clutch, as well as the handlebar end mirrors.

Further standard features include the Comfort Package, which includes Hill Start Control, Shift Assistant Pro, Heated Grips, and Cruise Control. For even more safety during night rides, the adaptive cornering light Headlight Pro ensures better illumination of the road in corners.

Comprehensive program of optional equipment from the factory andOriginal BMW Motorrad Aaccessories for customization.

The BMW R 12 S is based on the BMW R 12 nineT, and therefore all accessory products such as titanium exhaust systems, soft bags, or the navigation preparation can also be used for this motorcycle. For example, the already expressive dynamism of the lines can be further enhanced with the short rear end, which is available as an Original BMW Motorrad Accessory, and the black license plate holder attached to the swingarm. Additional factory-installed options are also available, such as Tire Pressure Control (RDC), Anti-Theft Alarm System (DWA), Intelligent Emergency Call, Connected Ride Control, and the digital display with micro-TFT display as an alternative to the classic round instruments.

    <description>
&quot; With a significantly extended range of standard equipment, fully adjustable upside-down forks, lighter wheels and a weight saving of 3 kilograms, we have been able to make the BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR even more attractive. The new BMW F 900 R also benefits from a sportier riding position and the BMW F 900 XR from optimised aerodynamics.&quot; -Anton Huber, Project Manager

The new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR: Technical and visual upgrades and significantly extended standard equipment for the dynamic roadster and long-distance sports bike in the mid-range segment.

With the new BMW F 900 R dynamic roadster and the new BMW F 900 XR crossover bike, BMW Motorrad is taking its popular mid-range product range to a new level. Both F-models are designed for sportiness and fun in twisty terrain, with even more agile handling and are suitable for experienced riders as well as newcomers and those returning to motorcycling. While the new BMW F 900 R as a Dynamic Roadster focuses primarily on sporty riding pleasure, the BMW F 900 XR has everything it takes to be a confident partner on longer tours and holiday trips with luggage.

Powerful two-cylinder in-line engine with Euro 5+ homologation. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) now standard. New sports silencer in collaboration with Akrapovi as genuine BMW Motorrad accessories.

In the new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR, the tried-and-tested two-cylinder in-line engine with 895 cc capacity and 77 kW (105 bhp) of power output ensures pleasurable riding dynamics. It also delivers a full-bodied torque curve in the current Euro 5+ homologation. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) is fitted as standard to ensure the best possible safety during acceleration.

The sound of the two-cylinder engine, which already has a powerful character due to the 270/450 degree firing interval, is made even throatier by the new sports silencer available as a genuine BMW Motorrad accessory (in cooperation with Akrapovi), which also offers a weight saving of approximately 1.2 kg.

New upside-down telescopic forks with adjustable damping rebound and compression damping and spring preload. New wheels, approx. 1.8 kg lighter.

BMW Motorrad ABS Pro and Dynamic Brake Control DBC as standard - for even more safety when braking.

On both the new BMW F 900 R and the new BMW F 900 XR, the front wheel is guided by new, torsionally rigid, upside-down telescopic forks with 43 mm slider tube diameter. Both rebound and compression damping as well as spring preload are now adjustable. This makes it possible to tailor the forks to suit individual requirements.

The new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR also feature new 17-inch cast aluminium wheels. They weigh around 1.8 kg less than the previous models, contributing to a total weight reduction of 3 kg.

Another new standard feature on the new F models is BMW Motorrad ABS Pro. In contrast to BMW Motorrad ABS, ABS Pro goes one step further and offers even more safety when braking in bends by enabling ABS-assisted braking at lean angles.

Another new standard safety feature is Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), which provides even greater safety when braking in difficult situations by preventing unintentional acceleration.

New, 0.8 kg lighter battery as standard and function-integrated turn indicator lights in the new rear end. BMW F 900 XR with Headlight Pro including daytime running light, adaptive headlight, USB-C charging port and heated grips as standard.

The two new F Series models are equipped with a new battery that is 0.8 kg lighter. They also have a new rear end with function-integrated turn indicator lights (brake and tail light functions are integrated into the turn indicator lights).

The new BMW F 900 XR comes with Headlight Pro as standard, including daytime running light and adaptive headlight for even greater safety when riding at night. <title>BMW Motorrad presents the BMW Concept F 450 GS</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-the-bmw-concept-f-450-gs</link>
    <description>
With the near-production-ready BMW Concept F 450 GS, BMW Motorrad is offering a glimpse of a BMW GS for the A2 license class and what a whole new model series between the BMW G 310 and F 800/900 could look like.

&quot; What was particularly important to us in the development of the new BMW Concept F 450 GS was to achieve the best handling for this segment and combine it with strong performance and optimal accessibility. The riding pleasure on-road and off-road is a top priority for this A2 BMW GS,&quot; says Sepp Mchler, Product Manager.

Unmistakable BMW GS Design.
&quot;The BMW Concept F 450 GS carries the characteristic DNA of the GS family,&quot; says Alexander Buckan, Head of BMW Motorrad Design. &quot;We have succeeded in designing the Concept with the sporty dynamic appeal of our large off-road icon in a particularly compact form.&quot;

As with the Trophy version of the BMW R 1300 GS, the colour scheme of blue, white and red with the base colour of Racing Blue metallic represents not only the highest performance and quality, but also the very dynamic and off-road-focused character.

Newly Developed Twin-Cylinder Engine.
The BMW Concept F 450 GS also delivers on the promise of premium quality in technical terms. The twin-cylinder inline engine has been developed from scratch and, thanks to a special, never-before-used ignition offset, is particularly characterful and eager to rev. Conforming to the A2 class, this engine delivers the full 48 hp and provides superior torque even at low revs.

The extremely compact dimensions of the engine, an excellent displacement-to-power ratio and the low weight are the result of innovative solutions and the use of lightweight materials, such as magnesium.

Performance: A Riding Machine for On- and Off-Road.
On the chassis side too, the BMW Concept F 450 GS sets new standards in this segment with premium technology. &quot; We were able to start the development of this vehicle with a clean slate. The aim was to enable excellent off-road capability and, at the same time, a nimble and precise handling on the road. Accordingly, the BMW Concept F 450 GS is equipped with a fully adjustable upside-down fork and a shock absorber with load-dependent damping, drawing on technology from rally and enduro sport. Through the targeted use of lightweight construction and other state-of-the-art solutions, we can create a sensationally light vehicle close to the minimum weight requirement in the A2 class of 175 kg,&quot; says Marc Weber, lead engineer of the BMW Concept F 450 GS.

Diverse Equipment for Safety and Comfort.
Inspired by the larger sibling, the BMW R 1300 GS, the Concept F 450 GS also sets new standards in the areas of safety and functionality in its class. The relevant features range from BMW Motorrad ABS Pro (dependent on lean angle) to a performance brake, to freely configurable riding modes. With BMW Connectivity on board and the 6.5-inch TFT display, the networking of the motorcycle and smartphone as well as other accessories is enabled.

A Glimpse into the Future.
The question that arises when looking at the BMW Concept F 450 GS is: What could we expect in a production version? Johann Simon, vehicle project manager of the Concept F 450 GS, explains: &quot;No compromises for sure. Following the very sporty off-road focus of the Concept F 450 GS, we will implement the bike as close as possible to this concept. We will only adjust the seat height for better accessibility and easier handling. As an alternative to the cross-spoke wheels (19 inches front, 17 inches rear), lightweight but high-strength cast aluminium wheels in the same dimensions are also conceivable.&quot;

BMW Motorrad plans to present the corresponding series vehicle in the style of the Concept F 450 GS in 2025.

    <title>BMW Motorrad presents the new BMW C 400 GT and BMW C 400 X.</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-the-new-bmw-c-400-gt-and-bmw-c-400-x</link>
    <description>
With the BMW C 400 GT and BMW C 400 X, BMW Motorrad offers two premium vehicles for the mid-size scooter segment. In the area of urban mobility, the BMW C 400 X stands out with emphasized dynamic characteristics, while the BMW C 400 GT, a Gran Turismo version suitable for touring, impresses with an increased range of comfort. BMW Motorrad has now sharpened the two mid-size scooters and, in addition to technical improvements, has also provided them with new features, colors and accessories.

Powerful single-cylinder drive with EU-5+ homologation and ABS Pro with DBC, DTC and MSR as standard.

The powerdrive remains the proven single-cylinder engine with an output of 25 kW (34 hp) at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 35 Nm at 5,750 rpm. Power is transmitted via a continuously variable CVT transmission and a powerset swing arm with high torsional rigidity. Thanks to the latest EU-5+ homologation, the new BMW C 400 X and
BMW C 400 GT remain ideal partners for dynamic, carefree scooter fun.

Both the BMW C 400 X and BMW C 400 GT are equipped with BMW Motorrad ABS Pro as standard. Thanks to ABS-assisted braking at a lean angle, it offers more safety even when braking in a corner. ABS Pro prevents the wheels from locking even when the brake lever is pressed quickly and reduces abrupt changes in steering force, thus the unwanted raising of the vehicle even during shock braking.

In addition, the Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) function linked to the ABS Pro offers a very sensitive response and high braking and driving stability with the best possible deceleration even when cornering. As soon as the sensor box delivers a certain deceleration value during braking, a simultaneous acceleration request by the driver is identified as implausible and the throttle valve is prevented from opening. As a result, the vehicle remains stable and the braking distance is reduced. If a defined deceleration force is reached, the hazard lights automatically switch on.

Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR) are also already on board as standard. DTC offers even more safety when accelerating even at a lean angle and especially in slippery road conditions. With MSR, unstable riding conditions that can occur during coasting or abrupt throttle reduction causing excessive brake slip on the rear wheel (slipping or stamping) can be safely avoided. In these cases, MSR opens the throttle valves so far as to equalize the drag torque and stabilize the vehicle.

Connectivity outstanding variety of information and functionality in the form of a large, perfectly readable 6.5-inch TFT display as standard. Navigation preparation for both models and a 10.25 display for the BMW C 400 GT as factory optional equipment.

The BMW C 400 X and BMW C 400 GT now come with a large 6.5-inch TFT display as standard. The variety of information, display quality and, last but not least, user friendliness are unmatched. In conjunction with the BMW Motorrad Connected app, the display is linked to the multi-controller on the left handlebar assembly and can be operated quickly, safely and conveniently. As part of the Connectivity Pro option, the BMW C 400 GT can also be equipped with a large 10.25 display.

Convenient calling, listening to music and navigating while riding are also possible. If, for example, a smartphone and helmet are connected to the BMW Motorrad communication system via Bluetooth, media playback and telephone functions can be easily accessed using the TFT-display. These functions can be used without installing an app. If there is an active Bluetooth connection to a standard smartphone, the rider can enjoy listening to music while riding and charge the smartphone in the actively cooled storage compartment. In addition, the free BMW Motorrad Connected app offers practical arrow navigation directly via the TFT display.

This basic navigation is particularly attractive for riders who want to comfortably handle everyday traffic or short trips without additional equipment. Navigation preparation with a holder for the BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Navigator or the BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Cradle is now also available as factory-fitted equipment (not in conjunction with the 10.25 display).

Expanded commuting offering with more storage space. New accessories such as 43.5 l top case, body protector and hand guard.

The BMW C 400 X and BMW C 400 GT now have more storage space under the seat allowing to store even more luggage. With the BMW C 400 X the storage volume increased by 3 liters, with the BMW C 400 GT, including the front pockets, by as much as 12 liters. The BMW C 400 GT now comes with a manually adjustable windshield as standard and can be factory-fitted with a luggage rack as part of the optional equipment.

With 43.5 l of storage space, the new top case not only offers 13.5 l more volume than before, but also 10 kg instead of the previous 5 kg payload. It also has electrification in the form of interior lighting and a USB charging port. A back cushion and painted side panels are also available as options for the new top case. It is attached to the vehicle via a vibration-decoupled luggage rack. New original BMW Motorrad accessories, such as body protectors and hand guards, round off the range of offers.

BMW C 400 X with new front design and new Rugged model variant as optional equipment ex-factory.

In addition to the basic Blackstorm metallic version with a black/grey seat, black rims and brake calipers at the front, the BMW C 400 X, equipped with a new and more dynamically designed front area, is also available in the new Rugged model variant.

In this version, the BMW C 400 X features the Kalamata metallic matt body color and appears exciting and dynamic at the same time. Red rims, tapes and tires with off-road design meet golden brake calipers at the front. A heavily tinted windshield, a red-black seat bench, stainless steel footboard inserts, and hand guards available as an optional accessory complete the robust look. The footboard inserts, as well as anodized handlebar end weights, are available as original BMW Motorrad accessories for both the BMW C 400 X and BMW C 400 GT.

    <title>The new BMW R 12 NineT and R 12</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/the-new-bmw-r-12-ninet-and-r-12</link>
    <description>
The new BMW R 12 nineT and R 12: a classic roadster for dynamic riding on country roads and a classic cruiser for cool, relaxed biking.

&quot;With the new BMW R 12 nineT as a Classic Roadster and the R 12 as a Classic Cruiser, we are seamlessly continuing what began in 2013 with the R nineT. Thanks in particular to the new frame concept, we have achieved an even more classic and purist design. The air/oil-cooled boxer engine with new airbox, which has its roots in the legendary sport boxer of the HP 2 Sport from 2007, ensures confident propulsion. With its four radially arranged valves, it is one of BMW&#039;s absolute engine icons.&quot;
Josef Miritsch, Head of Air-Cooled Boxer Series BMW Motorrad.

With the R nineT, BMW Motorrad presented more than just a classic-style roadster in 2013. From the very beginning it combined classic motorcycle design and modern technology with high craftsmanship and diverse customization options. Shortly afterwards, the R nineT was enriched with attractive derivatives, giving rise to a whole model family for the BMW Motorrad Heritage world.

That is why, for the new BMW R 12 nineT, the guiding principle during development was The Spirit of nineT, with the goal of seamlessly following in the footsteps of the successful R nineT and carrying forward its archetypal look, timelessness, and high customization qualities. While the new R 12 nineT as a classic roadster aims to make a stylish impression in urban environments as well as provide dynamic riding fun on winding country roads, the new BMW R 12 comes under the motto The Spirit of Easy - perfectly embodying a classic cruiser for cool and relaxed biking.

Great freedom of choice when it comes to design, model diversity and customizing.
The new BMW R 12 nineT and R 12 are classic roadsters and cruisers that combine the authentic and beefy character of the boxer engine and the design language of traditional motorcycle eras with innovative technology and a modular concept that offers the rider maximum customization options. Reduction to the essentials and attention to detail were key priorities in the development of the design, resulting in a strong emotional appeal.

Authentic and beefy boxer engine featuring redesigned airbox and twin-flow rear silencer.
For the past 100 years, the two-cylinder boxer engine and the use of a propeller shaft drive have been synonymous with BMW motorcycles. In line with this legacy, the new BMW R 12 nineT and R 12 models, presented in the 100 Years of BMW Motorrad anniversary year, further emphasise this distinctive powertrain configuration, following the recent unveiling of the new BMW R 1300 GS. The air/oil-cooled boxer engine with a capacity of 1,170 cc already familiar from numerous BMW Motorrad models, delivers
80 kW (109 hp) at 7,000 rpm in the R 12 nineT and 70 kW (95 hp) at 6,500 rpm in the
R 12. As part of the complete redesign of the chassis, the new R 12 models also feature a new airbox. This is now fully integrated under the seat. The left-mounted Twin Pipe exhaust system with two rear silencers with reverse cone design caters to both the desire for a classically designed, sporty roadster and a cruiser.

New, one-piece tubular bridge steel spaceframe with bolted-on rear frame.
The centrepiece of the new BMW R 12 models is the completely newly developed tubular bridge steel spaceframe. This frame differs from the previous R nineT series, which had a front and rear main frame. As a result, the new frame eliminates the need for previous fastenings, reducing weight and giving the new R 12 models a cleaner and more classic appearance. The rear frame, also made of tubular steel, is bolted to the main frame.

New classic round instruments as well as USB-C and 12 V socket as standard equipment. Digital display available as optional equipment ex works.
The new R 12 nineT comes equipped with two analogue round instruments for speed and rpms, a USB-C port on the left side, and a 12V socket on the right side for the onboard network. The round instruments continue to support customization by communicating via a LIN-Bus and separating the control and display units. The standard instrumentation for the new R 12 is limited to the speedometer, but the rev counter can be retrofitted with genuine BMW Motorcycle accessories.

The new R 12 nineT and R 12 are available as a roadster and cruiser, each offering a classic design and optimal ergonomics.
On the the R 12 nineT the aluminium tank with brushed and clear-coated side panels, the seat, and the tail-hump create a rising, dynamic line. The improved ergonomics compared to its predecessor are mainly due to the 30 mm shorter and narrower fuel tank in the rear area. The rider is closer to the handlebars, benefits from improved knee contact, and has a more front-oriented seating position on the motorcycle overall.

On the new BMW R 12, the steel tank, reminiscent of the so-called Toaster Tanks of the 1970s BMW /5 models, emphasises the typical design language of a cruiser in a classic teardrop shape and forms a descending line in combination with the standard solo seat and the curved, low-mounted rear wheel cover. The large 19-inch front wheel and the small 16-inch rear wheel complement this harmoniously. The classic cruiser design is also reflected in the relaxed seating position with low seat height and wide handlebars.

Three attractive paintwork options for making stylish appearances as Classic Roadster and Classic Cruiser.
Each bike, the BMW R 12 nineT and R 12, comes in three attractive colour options.

    <title>BMW Motorrad presents the new M 1000 XR</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-the-new-m-1000-xr</link>
    <description>
The new BMW M 1000 XR: the long-distance sports bike designed to meet the highest demands, from dynamic riding on country roads to long-distance touring and racing.

&quot; The M XR is the third M model from BMW Motorrad. Based on the current S 1000 XR and S 1000 RR, the product substance of the M 1000 XR - M XR for short - has been tuned to meet the specific requirements of a long-distance sports bike. The riding dynamics speak for themselves, both on the country roads as well as on the race track and on long-distance journeys&quot;. -Dominik Blass, M 1000 XR Product Manager.

The new BMW M 1000 XR: the long-distance sports bike designed to meet the highest demands, from dynamic riding on country roads to long-distance touring and racing.
At the end of 2018, BMW Motorrad already introduced the successful M model range strategy for motorcycles and has been offering M special equipment and M performance parts ever since. The new BMW M 1000 XR is the third M model from BMW Motorrad to celebrate its world premiere, following the M 1000 RR superbike and the dynamic
M 1000 R roadster: The long-distance sports bike M 1000 XR.

In the centenary year of BMW Motorrad, the dynamic philosophy of the world&#039;s most powerful letter is also applied to the new M XR: M is synonymous worldwide with racing success and the fascination of high-performance BMW models and is aimed at customers with particularly high demands for performance, exclusivity and individuality.

With an engine output of 148 kW (201 hp), a DIN empty weight of only 223 kg and suspension technology and aerodynamics designed equally for high-performance country road use, extended long-distance trips and fast laps on the race track, the new M XR, as the lightest representative of this crossover segment, opens up dynamic driving dimensions previously reserved for thoroughbred superbikes.

Powerful M XR 4-cylinder based on the RR engine. Even more peak power, higher torque and increased thrust and traction thanks to shorter secondary and gear ratios for maximum riding pleasure on country roads and race tracks.
The new M XR features a modified water-cooled 4-cylinder in-line engine based on the power unit of the S 1000 RR. Its peak power is 148 kW (201 hp) at 12,750 rpm, 23 kW
(31 hp) more than in the new S 1000 XR. The maximum torque of 113 Nm is reached at 11,000 rpm. The maximum engine speed of the M XR is 14,600 rpm. Increased rear wheel pulling power in all gears is also provided by a shorter secondary gear ratio through the use of a sprocket with now 47 teeth (S 1000 XR: 45 teeth). In addition, the gear ratios of the 4th, 5th and 6th gear are now shorter compared to the S 1000 XR, which also benefits traction at the rear wheel, acceleration and pulling power.

M winglets and wind deflectors: Brake later, reduce wheelies and accelerate earlier thanks to aerodynamic downforce.
In addition to drive and suspension technology, aerodynamics was also a key item in the specifications for developing the M XR. The new M XR was given winglets in the area of the front side panels with the aim of achieving even faster lap times on the race track and the best possible riding stability at high speeds, From a speed of about 100 km/h, they provide an increase in front wheel load thanks to the aerodynamic downforce generated. It increases by approx. 12 kg at 220 km/h.

Chassis trimmed for performance-oriented riding on country roads and race tracks with Dynamic Damping Control (DDC), adjustable spring base, adjustable steering damper, milled-over handlebar clamp and more front-oriented tubular handlebar with laser-etched &quot;BMW M XR&quot; lettering.
The suspension and chassis of the new M XR are based on the S 1000 XR with the aluminium bridge frame as the centrepiece. The M XR features upside-down forks with a 45 mm slide tube diameter at the front. The forks are equipped with so-called
closed cartridge inserts, separate hydraulic piston-cylinder systems. Another new feature of the M XR is the additional adjustability of the fork&#039;s spring base in conjunction with the standard Dynamic Damping Control (DDC) suspension strut.

In addition, the forks of the M XR feature an upper fork bridge with an elaborately milled-over handlebar clamp as well as a more front-oriented black aluminium tubular handlebar with lasered &quot;BMW M 1000 XR&quot; lettering. The handlebar end mirrors available as an option ex works are also new on the M XR. The fork legs have also been modified and are now designed to accommodate the new M brake callipers. Another new element of the
M XR is the adjustable steering damper.

M brakes with radial hand brake pump and lightweight forged aluminium wheels for optimum riding dynamics on the race track and in performance mode. Exclusive
M Carbon wheels are available as part of the M Competition package or as an individual option.
After the M 1000 RR and the M 1000 R, the new M XR is the third BMW motorcycle to feature an M brake. It was developed directly using the experience gained with the racing brakes on BMW Motorrad factory racing machines in the Superbike World Championship. The M brake callipers feature a blue anodised coating in conjunction with the famous
M logo.

Together with two 320 mm brake discs of 5 mm thickness and black anodised aluminium brake disc carriers, the brake system equipped with a new radial hand brake pump currently marks the pinnacle of brake development in the field of road-legal systems. The new M XR is already equipped with very lightweight forged aluminium wheels as standard. As part of the M Competition package, the exclusive M Carbon wheels are available with newly designed tapes on the rim.

Brake Slide Assist - assists the rider when brake drifting.
The Brake Slide Assist function is an important and very helpful innovation, especially for race track riders. It allows the rider to brake drift into corners with a constant slide.

Instrument cluster with perfectly readable 6.5-inch TFT display, new display of the rev counter (red area) and OBD interface for M GPS Datalogger and
M GPS Laptrigger that can be used via unlock code.
The instrument cluster of the new M XR corresponds to the design of the M RR and also offers the M start-up animation. The extended display of the red speed range is a new feature. As optional equipment, comprehensive data material for using the
M GPS Laptrigger and the M GPS Datalogger (Original BMW Motorrad Accessories) can be provided by means of an unlock code via the OBD interface of the instrument cluster.

M Design and the dynamic design of the M XR signal pure performance and sportiness.
Even more than the S 1000 XR, the new M XR with its optimised chassis technology and the most powerful engine to date in a dynamic long-distance sports bike from
BMW Motorrad is uncompromisingly designed for sporty riding - whether on country roads, long-distance tours or on the race track. M XR - there is currently no better performing and lighter vehicle in this crossover segment. The proportions of the M XR are ultra-compact and powerful. Three-dimensional surfaces create excitement and a dynamic look. Slim, sleek and extremely aggressive, the M XR&#039;s front end is unmistakable with its new M winglets, designed as quadruple wings. The performance-oriented look of the new M XR is also reflected in the colour concept, with the body in Black combined with the M colours Light Blue, Dark Blue and Red.

Uncompromising design and technology: The M XR featuring the M Competition Package.
If the new M XR in standard trim is still not enough for you, the M Competition Package offers a fascinating mix of refined components for the racing technology gourmet and the aesthetically minded rider alike. In addition, this makes the new M XR another 3 kg lighter. The M Competition Package includes M Carbon wheels, M Carbon parts such as rear wheel cover with integrated chain guard, side panels, front wheel cover, inner cover and ignition/steering lock cover as well as a fully adjustable M rider footrest system, passenger footrests and the MGPS Laptrigger (unlock code).

    <title>The New BMW R 1300 GS</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/the-new-bmw-r-1300-gs</link>
    <description>
The new BMW R 1300 GS: Next level GS featuring new boxer engine and new suspension, with significantly reduced weight and increased GS competence all round.

With the new BMW R 1300 GS we will once again take the competition by surprise. It is defined by an even broader spread of product substance, while the reduction in complexity and vehicle weight, combined with focused equipment, enable the essence of the boxer GS to be showcased even more strikingly. With a new engine, outstanding handling and impressive ride qualities, it will set the pace both on and off the road.
Thilo Fuchs, Head of Water-cooled Boxer Models

The new BMW R 1300 GS: Next level GS featuring new boxer engine and new suspension, with significantly reduced weight and increased GS competence all round.

BMW Motorrad established the new segment of touring enduros more than four decades ago with the R 80 G/S. The BMW GS with boxer engine has been the undisputed leader of the competitive field ever since. To ensure this remains the case in the future, BMW Motorrad has opted for an almost completely new design for the new R 1300 GS, with an impressive weight saving of 12 kg compared to the previous model.

The centrepiece is once again the legendary two-cylinder boxer engine. Its new design is more compact than ever before thanks to a gearbox located under the engine and a new camshaft drive arrangement. From exactly 1 300 cc it produces an output of 107 kW (145 hp) at 7 750 rpm, developing a maximum torque of 149 Nm at 6 500 rpm. This makes it by far the most powerful BMW boxer engine ever to be produced in series.

At the centre of the new suspension is the sheet metal shell main frame made of steel, which in addition to being significantly optimised in terms of installation space also offers higher levels of stiffness than the predecessor model. For the rear frame, the previous tubular steel structure has now been replaced with a die-cast aluminium construction. The new EVO Telelever front wheel guide with flex element and the revised EVO Paralever rear wheel guide also provide even greater steering precision and ride stability.

New electronic Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) as optional equipment ex works, with dynamic adaptation of the damping and spring rate, and also load compensation.
The previous Dynamic ESA Next Generation electronic suspension itself provided a high level of ride safety and riding fun on a wide variety of terrains with its dynamic adjustment of the damping and adjustable spring rest at the rear. The new electronic Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) now goes one step further, combining the dynamic adjustment of the front and rear damping with a corresponding adjustment of the spring rate (spring stiffness) depending on the selected riding mode, riding condition and manoeuvres. The automatic adjustment of the spring rest ensures load compensation. This makes for an even more thrilling riding experience on all surfaces. Whether solo, in pairs or with bulky luggage DSA ensures an even higher level of ride safety, performance and comfort.

Adaptive vehicle height control and sports suspension as optional equipment ex works.

Exclusively in conjunction with DSA as optional equipment ex works, two further items of optional equipment are available for the suspension of the new R 1300 GS: the new adaptive vehicle height control and the sports suspension.

With adaptive vehicle height control, the new R 1300 GS offers fully automatic adjustment of the vehicle height depending on the operating condition, thereby ensuring the greatest possible comfort without having to compromise on riding dynamics and banking freedom.

With 20 mm more spring travel at the front and rear and an optional athletically firm sports suspension specially developed for the GS, off-road riders are well catered for here.

Four riding modes now standard. Enduro riding mode for an enhanced off-road riding experience.
Even in standard trim, the new R 1300 GS now has four rather than three riding modes for adaptation to individual rider preferences. The Rain and Road riding modes allow riding characteristics to be adapted to most road conditions. With the Eco riding mode it is possible to achieve the maximum range on a single tank of fuel, while the additional riding mode Enduro enables an enhanced riding experience off the beaten track with a specific set-up for off-road use.

Matrix LED headlamps with innovative design as standard, state-of-the-art LED light units all round with turn indicators integrated in the hand protectors and Headlight Pro as optional equipment ex works.
BMW Motorrad is regarded as the pioneer par excellence when it comes to motorcycling safety and related innovations. Accordingly, the new R 1300 GS offers a new, very small full LED headlamp with a novel, distinctive light icon as standard. This illuminates the road with a hitherto unrivalled clarity, thereby ensuring even better perception in traffic. The light unit consists of two LED units for low and high beam along with four additional LED units for the daytime running light and the side light. State-of-the-art LED light units with newly designed LED turn indicators integrated in the hand protectors at the front, function-integrated at the rear round off the lighting concept of the new R 1300 GS. With the optional equipment item Headlight Pro, the beam of the standard full LED headlamp turns into the bend according to the banking position. In this way, the bend is almost fully illuminated because the light moves to where the motorcycle is heading.

Riding Assistant with Active Cruise Control (ACC), Front Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Change Warning (SWW) for safe and convenient motorcycling.
The new BMW R 1300 GS features the new Riding Assistant option, consisting of the components Active Cruise Control (ACC), Front Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Change Warning (SWW). Active Cruise Control (ACC) with integrated distance control can be used to set the desired riding speed as well as the distance to the vehicle in front. Front Collision Warning (FCW) with brake intervention is designed to prevent collisions and help reduce the severity of accidents, while Lane Change Warning monitors the lanes to the left and right and can help ensure a safe lane change while supporting use of the rear mirror.

The new R 1300 GS: the very highest level of touring and off-road expertise in an attractive basic variant along with the variants Triple Black, GS Trophy and Option 719 Tramuntana.

The new R 1300 GS features an entirely new design which is based on the traditional GS flyline while at the same time reflecting extreme compactness and significant weight reduction.

With a new aluminium fuel tank that has a much flatter ramp than on the predecessor models, the flyline is largely responsible for the very dynamic, light and accessible appearance of the new R 1300 GS. Here it was also possible to add a very sporty and dynamic accentuation by means of the continuous texture in the fuel tank centre cover.

The basic variant of the new BMW R 1300 GS perfectly embodies what the BMW Motorrad development team has endowed the GS legend with: compact arrangement of the components, high functionality of the equipment and everything focused on the essentials. In Lightwhite solid paint and in conjunction with its sharply drawn lines and very clean appearance, the new R 1300 GS has a muscular appearance and embodies the boxer GS theme in pristine style.

TripleBlack is a model variant of the boxer GS that has been popular for many years. In this colour scheme, the new BMW R 1300 GS has a masculine attitude combined with exclusive surfaces.

The basic finish Racingblue metallic sets the tone for the model variant GS Trophy. With red and white tapes and inscriptions combined with a rear frame coated in white metallic matt, the GS Trophy stands for the very highest level of performance and sporty off-road riding.

The new R 1300 GS shows its exclusive and technically sophisticated side in the model variant Option 719 Tramuntana. This combines cross-spoke wheels in gold with a high-quality paint finish in Aurelius Green metallic and sophisticated milled aluminium parts.

    <title>BMW Motorrad presents the new BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS.</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-the-new-bmw-f-900-gs-f-900-gs-adventure-and-f-800-gs</link>
    <description>
The new BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS: The new premium mid-range touring enduros provide purist riding fun thanks to even more sophisticated off-road, touring and adventure capabilities.

With the new F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS BMW Motorrad is significantly boosting its product range of touring enduros for the mid-range. While the new BMW F 800 GS is the ideal bike, especially for entry-level riders, the
BMW F 900 GS Adventure is very well suited for extended adventure trips and for long, demanding tours. All three models have been significantly updated and now offer, among other things, an even higher level of standard equipment in addition to a new drive. The
F 900 GS features many far-reaching innovations. The motorcycles range of uses has been considerably expanded thanks to its enhanced off-road qualities combined with a drastic weight reduction of 14 kg compared to the predecessor model making it a particularly sporty F Series model.

Drive with advanced 2-cylinder in-line engine with greater capacity, more output and engine drag torque control.
In the new F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS the advanced 2-cylinder in-line engine introduced in 2018 with the F 850 GS provides increased riding dynamics. The main reason for this is the increased capacity 895 cc (previously 853 cc). With a
270/450 degree firing interval, the engine generates a particularly emotional sound. In the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure it puts out 77 kW (105 hp) and in the F 800 GS 64 kW
(87 hp). In addition to a significant increase in peak power of 10 hp each, the new engines are also characterised by a much fuller torque curve, increased pulling power and faster acceleration.

Two riding modes, ABS Pro and DTC as standard. Riding modes Pro with additional riding modes, riding mode pre-selection and engine drag torque control as optional equipment ex works.
The new GS models in the F series already offer the two riding modes &quot;Rain&quot; and &quot;Road&quot; as standard. Dynamic Traction Control DTC, the cornering-optimised ABS Pro and the dynamic brake light. With &quot;riding modes Pro&quot; available as optional equipment ex works, the dynamic qualities of the new F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS can be exploited even more intensively thanks to additional riding modes, the riding mode pre-selection and the engine drag torque control as well as Dynamic Brake Control DBC.

BMW F 900 GS with new, significantly lighter plastic fuel tank and rear section. New, fully adjustable upside-down telescopic forks on the F 900 GS and F900 GS Adventure.
The new F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS rely on a bridge-type frame made of deep-drawn sheet steel parts welded together, which integrates the 2-cylinder in-line engine as a supporting element. The 14.5-litre plastic fuel tank of the new F 900 GS is a completely new development saving 4.5 kg of weight compared to the steel tank of the previous model. The F 900 GS features a completely redesigned rear section which makes it look even more dynamic and save around 2.4 kg of weight. A further 1.7 kg are saved thanks to the rear silencer by Akrapovi. The front wheel on the F 900 GS and
F 900 GS Adventure is guided by new, fully adjustable upside-down telescopic forks by Showa.

New Enduro Pro package for the new F 900 GS and Dynamic ESA for the new F 900 GS Adventure and the F 800 GS optionally available ex works.
The new F 900 GS can be given even more off-road prowess with the optional equipment ex works Enduro Pro package featuring fully adjustable titanium nitride-coated upside-down telescopic forks, fully adjustable central spring strut as well as handlebar risers and M Endurance chain. The Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) electronic suspension is available as optional equipment for the new F 900 GS Adventure and the F 800 GS.

New BMW F 900 GS with ergonomics optimised for off-road use, enduro footrests and aluminium side stand. Optimised adjustable gearshift lever and, on the F 900 GS, a new foot brake lever as well.
The increased off-road qualities of the new F 900 GS are expressed by the ergonomic triangle (handlebar - seat - footrests) optimised for off-road use. Lower footrests in combination with the higher handlebar position and the new design of the fuel tank provide clear advantages, especially when riding standing up on rough terrain.

All three new models already offer an adjustable gearshift lever as standard. In conjunction with an optimised bearing and new gearshift lever kinematics, it was also possible to optimise shifting the six-speed transmission even further. The F 900 GS also features a new foot brake lever in a higher position.

New LED headlight on the BMW F 900 GS. All models feature powerful LED light units.
Compared to the predecessor model, the LED headlight on the new BMW F 900 GS offers a larger low beam opening angle and thus better illumination directly in front of the motorcycle. The new F 900 GS Adventure and the F 800 GS also feature LED headlights as standard. Furthermore, the turn indicator and control lights of all three models also use LED technology.

Connectivity - unrivalled information diversity and functionality in the form of a large, perfectly readable 6.5-inch TFT display. The new BMW F 900 GS comes as standard with multifunction holder to accommodate navigation devices, action cams and more.
The new GS models in the F series already each have a large 6.5-inch TFT display as standard. This applies in particular to the F 800 GS, which previously had an analogue display. Information diversity, quality of presentation and, last but not least, user-friendliness are unrivalled. Phoning, listening to music and navigating while riding is very comfortable. The new BMW F 900 GS is already equipped with a 12 mm holder as standard, which permits action cams or other devices to be mounted. In order to install the BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Navigator or the BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Cradle, the &quot;navigation preparation option is also required.

BMW F 900 GS with new body dimensions, clear design and colour scheme highlighting its off-road qualities, sportiness and dynamic performance.
The new BMW F 900 GS has been completely redesigned and benefits from a dynamic design that signals increased off-road qualities and sportiness, as well as visually highlighting the 14 kg of lowered weight. One of the key points of the new design is the redesigned plastic fuel tank, which allowed for a much slimmer and ergonomically more favourable design with a capacity of only 0.5 litres less than the previous model. New, close-fitting tank side panels, together with a new radiator trim give the new F 900 GS a sleek, sporty and off-road-oriented look. Off-road qualities, sportiness and dynamic performance are also reflected in the entire rear section, which is significantly narrower and more dynamic than the predecessor model. The dynamic appearance of the new
F 900 GS is further enhanced by the sporty rear silencer by Akrapovi. The new F 900 GS is available as a basic version in Blackstorm metallic, as a Passion model version in So Paulo yellow solid paint and as a GS Trophy version in Lightwhite solid paint/Racing Blue metallic.

New attractive model variants and colour schemes for the F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS.
The new F 900 GS Adventure is available as a basic variant in Blackstorm metallic and as a Ride Pro model variant in matt White Aluminium. The new F 800 GS is available as a basic variant in Lightwhite solid paint, as a Sport model variant in Racing Blue and as a Triple Black version in Blackstorm metallic.

The new BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS feature the common highlights:

Advanced 2-cylinder in-line engine with increased capacity of now 895 cc
(previously 853 cc).
Even higher output and torque: F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure with 77 kW (105 hp) at 8,500 rpm and 93 Nm at 6,750 rpm. F 800 GS with 64 kW (87 hp) at 6,750 rpm and
91 Nm at 6,750 rpm.
35 kW (48 hp) versions for driving licence class A2 (F 800 GS only).
High refinement due to two counter-rotating counterbalance shafts.

<title>BMW Motorrad presents the ConnectedRide Navigator</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-the-connectedride-navigator</link>
    <description>
The new Navigator featuring seamless BMW Cloud integration makes navigating on a motorcycle a joy.

Head for the most beautiful locations in the world while always keeping the destination in your sights - the new BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator connects every BMW with navigation preparation to the roads of the world.

Using the personal BMW ID, all routes, recordings and route planning are synchronised between the navigator and the BMW Motorrad app and are therefore also available in the BMW Motorrad app at any time and from anywhere. Both the maps and the functions of the navigator are always kept up to date, as the device can be connected to the internet and can be updated at any time. The way that the BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator is operated via the multicontroller and thanks to its seamless smartphone integration sets new standards in this product segment.

Large display with high luminosity and perfectly matched to the BMW Motorrad TFT screens.
A very bright 5.5-inch touchscreen display ensures optimal readability, even in direct sunlight. The BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator is seamlessly matched with the motorcycle displays and the entire BMW Motorrad world of experience. The graphic design and user interaction harmonise perfectly and allow seamless integration into the operating concept of the TFT screen and the BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator. The displays are also coordinated with each other with regard to light intensity, reflection and anti-reflection coating. The Navigator is charged via the BMW on-board network. Alternatively, it can also be charged in no time at all using the included USB-C cable with up to 2.4 A charging current.

Update capability, cloud synchronisation and downward compatibility.
The new BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator was developed in-house and updates can be delivered directly via the BMW Motorrad systems. Analogous to a smartphone, updates for functions and maps are actively indicated. Updates are installed directly on the BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator. The only thing that is required is an online data connection (WLAN or a SIM card installed by the customer). It does not have to be connected to a computer.

For the latest traffic information, which is updated in real time, the navigator can go online either via a WiFi hotspot (which customers can provide via their smartphone, for example) or via the SIM card installed by the customer. This is even possible while riding and the user is always kept up-to-date.

The BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator is part of the MyBMW Cloud. Accordingly, the user can log in to the BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator with his MyBMW account thereby connecting the device to the BMW Cloud, where he can synchronise his planned routes, the routes he has ridden and a great deal more. In this way, the user can plan an individual route on any end device (BMW app, PC browser, etc.), which is then immediately available on any registered end device. Routes created in other planning portals can also be imported into the BMW Cloud and be used on all registered end devices.

The hardware and software of the new BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator are compatible with all BMW motorcycles built from 2014 onwards (with restrictions), provided they have a multicontroller and if navigation preparation is already installed or has been retrofitted as part of the Original BMW Motorrad Accessories.

Seamless smartphone integration delivers maximum functional comfort.
In addition, all smartphone functions and in particular media applications such as Spotify and telephone functions can be centrally operated and coordinated via the new BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator. In particular, the user can control the volume both as a master volume for all sources and individually for each source. All other end devices such as the rider and passenger helmets as well as the BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Smartglasses can also be connected to the Navigator via Bluetooth and controlled accordingly. The personal contacts stored on the smartphone can be used directly on the navigator for telephone and routing functions.

The new BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator is available as of 01 November 2023 and simply needs to be clicked into the holder of the navigation preparation and locked with the motorcycle key.

<title>BMW has a strong showing at the most important award of the year.</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-has-a-strong-showing-at-the-most-important-award-of-the-year</link>
<description>Munich/Stuttgart. Once again BMW Motorrad received numerous awards in the annual MOTORRAD magazine readers&#039; vote this year. The BMW representatives were able to go up on the podium eight times at the awards ceremony in Stuttgart, four times even to the top step of the podium.

Eight awards with four wins really confirms us in our product offensive. This result once again confirms that we at BMW Motorrad are in exactly the right position with the right product range and offer highly attractive products in the different segments, says Dr. Markus Schramm, Head of BMW Motorrad, on the result of what is already the 25th readers&#039; vote by MOTORRAD magazine. I would like to sincerely thank the readers of MOTORRAD magazine for their great encouragement, which is a great incentive for us to continue to do everything we can to defend our top position in the premium motorcycle market.

With victories in the categories Sports Bikes, Tourers/Sport Tourers, Adventure/Touring and Power Nakeds as well as three second places and one third place, BMW Motorrad once again achieved an impressive result in this year&#039;s readers&#039; vote in its 100th anniversary year. A total of 50,096 readers took part in the poll.

In the Sports Bikes category, the BMW M 1000 RR continues to dominate this highly competitive segment for the third year in a row with a 19.9 per cent share of the vote. With its fascinating mix of sporty riding dynamics on country roads, top racetrack performance and state-of-the-art ride safety systems, it is once again in first place in the readers&#039; favour for 2023.

The R 1250 RS is another repeat winner. Following the clear victories of the past years, the R 1250 RS is the winner in the Tourer/Sport Tourer segment once again. Thanks to its excellent all-round qualities in the areas of riding dynamics, sportiness and touring suitability, it was able to keep the strong competition at bay once again with 18.1 percent of the votes.

With the M 1000 R, a second M model from BMW Motorrad also achieves first place alongside the M 1000 RR thus winning the Power Roadster category. 15.4% of all readers voted for this uncompromisingly dynamic powerhouse.

The BMW Motorrad icons R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure also head into the new year with unbroken popularity. Taking first place in the readers&#039; vote with an outstanding 34.8% of the readers&#039; votes once again confirms the superior Bavarian position in this hotly contested segment. With almost 60,000 units of the R 1250 GS and its sister R 1250 GS Adventure alone sold in 2022, the GS continues its successful path.

The BMW S 1000 XR just missed out on victory this year. In what is now the 9th model year since the ground-breaking adventure-sport bike was launched, even a second place in the Crossover category is still cause for celebration. No other model has been able to hold its own in the top group for so many years in such a technology and performance driven segment. The excellent combination of high performance, high active ride safety thanks to ABS and Dynamic Traction Control DTC as well as the optional electronically controlled chassis with Dynamic Damping Control DDC are highly appreciated by customers thanks to being continuously developed.

In the Modern Classics category, the R nineT secured a great second place. All in all, however, BMW Motorrad is more than satisfied here, too. After all, the R18, a close relative from the Heritage segment, achieved a great result. In second place in the Chopper/Cruiser category, the R18 stands out thanks to its authentic and emotional design and the unique 1800 cc boxer engine.

In the Scooter category, the electrically powered, emission-free scooter CE 04 made it onto the podium for the first time in third place. Stephan Reiff, Head of Sales and Marketing BMW Motorrad, on the result of this readers&#039; vote: In addition to the many awards this year, I am particularly pleased about the positive response that our innovative approach to the topic of urban electric mobility has received. The CE 04 rounds off the positive results at the Motorcycle of the Year 2023 awards. The scooter not only interprets zero-emission, inner-city, individual mobility in an extremely attractive package, but also clearly confirms us in continuing on our course of rolling out electric mobility coming from the urban area.

The award ceremony was held on 20 March 2023 in Stuttgart. In the 25th readers vote on the Motorcycle of the Year 2023, which is considered to be the most important motorcycle and scooter readers vote in Europe, 50,096 readers took part.

    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-achieves-the-best-sales-result-in-the-companys-history</link>
<description>Munich. BMW Motorrad achieved the highest sales in its corporate history with 202,895 motorcycles and scooters handed over to customers, which is an increase of +4.4 % compared to the previous year. BMW Motorrad remains in first place in the global premium motorcycle and scooter segment.

Dr. Markus Schramm, Head of BMW Motorrad: &quot;I would like to express my sincere thanks to our customers worldwide for the great trust they have placed in us again in 2022. The record result in 2022 clearly proves that our attractive product range and our brand are very popular with customers. I look forward to our centenary year in 2023 with great joy and confidence.&quot;

Stable sales in Europe.
Germany remains the largest single market for BMW Motorrad in 2022 with 24,129 motorcycles and scooters sold. With a record number of 21,223 vehicles handed over to customers and thus an increase of 6.7 % compared to the previous year, France, among other countries, ensured a satisfying pan-European result for BMW Motorrad.

China, India, Brazil and the USA have a significant share in the success.
In other regions, several countries ended 2022 with a record year. In Asia (46,332 units / +7.4 %), both China (15,404 units / +7.7 %) and India (7,282 units / +40.3 %) achieved their best results to date. Growth was also driven in North America (20,295 units +11 %) by records from the USA (17,690 units +10.4 %). BMW Motorrad&#039;s record year was also driven by the Latin American markets (25,480 units / +17.2 %). BMW Motorrad&#039;s record year was also driven by the Latin American markets (25,480 units / +17.2 %). Brazil was the front-runner selling a record 13,051 vehicles, which represents an increase of 17 % compared to the previous year.

R 1250 GS and GS Adventure are the driving forces once again.
The R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure boxer models achieved strong sales figures in 2022 again. With a combined total of almost 60,000 units, the two Adventure models made a significant contribution to the successful overall result achieved by BMW Motorrad.

Sports 4-cylinder models in the fast lane.
The sports 4-cylinder models were also sold very successfully. The S 1000 RR in particular underpinned its top position in the sports segment. Over 10,000 customers opted for this racetrack rocket alone in 2022. Together with the S 1000 R and the S 1000 XR as well as the exclusive M 1000 RR, almost 23,500 units equipped with the powerful 4-cylinder engine were delivered to customers worldwide.

Strong performance in the segment up to 500cc.
The single-cylinder G 310 R and G 310 GS models enjoyed unbroken popularity in 2022. With over 24,000 motorcycles sold worldwide, these two agile all-rounders are a permanent fixture in the BMW Motorrad portfolio and contributed to the overall success in 2022.

Urban mobility is becoming electric.
With almost 5,000 units already sold in the year of its market launch, the innovative e-scooter CE 04 sent out a clear signal. The message is clear: The future of urban mobility is electric.

Looking ahead at 2023.
In 2023, BMW Motorrad celebrates its 100th anniversary. Stephan Reiff, Head of Sales and Brand, states: &quot;Our customers and fans can look forward to some surprises in 2023 on the occasion of our 100th anniversary. Great events such as the BMW Motorrad Days in summer, great new products like the M 1000 R and some new model world premieres will make this year a very special one offering many highlights. A great setting for our goal of making 2023 another successful year for BMW Motorrad and underpinning our leading position in the premium segment.&quot;

<description>Munich. In December 1922, BMW chief designer Max Friz puts the first full-scale BMW motorcycle on the drawing board. At its heart is an air-cooled two-cylinder four-stroke boxer engine. The first BMW motorcycle, the R 32, was presented in September 1923. This heralded the beginning of BMW motorcycle production and launched an unprecedented success story.

To celebrate its 100-year history, BMW Motorrad is now presenting the two protagonists of the Heritage experience world - the R nineT Roadster and the R 18 Cruiser with big boxer - as 100 Years edition models. In keeping with the year in which BMW Motorrad was founded, both models are limited to 1923 units each.

BMW R nineT 100 Years: The great roadster tradition from BMW Motorrad in particularly refined and sophtisticated packaging.
The reduced design language of the R nineT is shaped by 100 years of motorcycle construction and BMW Motorrad&#039;s unbroken passion for the boxer engine. Classic roadster design skilfully sets the scene with a compact tank and upright seating position as well as high-quality materials and stylish design elements. The new R nineT 100 Years becomes an exclusive anniversary edition thanks to numerous other special features. The heart is still the air/oil-cooled, 80 kW (109 hp) two-cylinder boxer engine. In the anniversary edition the legendary engine is accompanied by a wide range of options and an elaborate surface concept.

Classic Chrome and Option 719 Parts: High-grade paint-on-chrome surfaces and exquisite milled parts and wheels.
Paint finishes in combination with chrome surfaces also have an almost 100-year tradition in motorcycle construction. Chrome surfaces, usually consisting of a copper, nickel and final chrome layer are characterised by their hardness and resulting high durability, very good protection against corrosion, but above all by a radiant, mirror-like shine. This made chrome a common stylistic device for designers from the late 1920s onwards, in combination with high-quality paint concepts. The BMW R 75/5 with chrome-plated tank sides and side covers, for example, is legendary at BMW Motorrad. With the new BMW R nineT 100 Years and R 18 100 Years and the Classic Chrome surface concept, BMW Motorrad is reviving this incomparably sophisticated interplay of paint and chrome.

The tank is a combination of black with chrome and white double-lining and is complemented by knee pads and a 100 Years badge. Classic chrome is also found on the seat hump. The front wheel cover is also painted in black and features white double lining. The seat bench in two-tone combination black/oxblood rounds off the high quality look.

Numerous black components such as fork tubes, air intake snorkel and some Option 719 components complement this harmoniously. The R nineT 100 Years includes the 719 Classic wheels option with black anodised rim rings, the Option 719 Shadow milled parts package with milled cylinder head covers, engine housing covers, seat holders, oil filler plug and the Option 719 Shadow II milled parts package, consisting of adjustable hand levers and a footrest system, pillion footrests as well as expansion tank covers and handlebar end mirrors. Adaptive turning light and the Comfort Package with heated grips, cruise control and Driving Modes Pro complete the extensive equipment of the edition model. An anti-theft alarm system can also be retrofitted as part of the optional equipment ex works or via the range of Original BMW Motorrad Accessories.

BMW R 18 100 Years: The big boxer stylishly designed using a special paintwork and surface concept with Classic Chrome.
The unmissable centrepiece of the R 18 100 Years is the 67 kW (91 hp) boxer engine with the largest displacement ever installed by BMW Motorrad. Both technically and visually, the BMW R 18 borrows from famous BMW models such as the BMW R 5 and puts the focus back on the essentials of motorcycling: Purist, no-frills technology and the boxer engine as the epicentre of riding pleasure. The big boxer is also complemented by numerous special features as well as a high-grade surface concept in the anniversary edition of the R 18.

The colour scheme of the R 18 100 Years, like that of the anniversary model of the R nineT, is in Classic Chrome and thus combines black paintwork and high-gloss chrome surfaces as well as white double lining and a 100 Years badge. The paint-on-chrome concept in Classic Chrome is also found on the rear wheel cover in combination with white double lining. The front wheel cover and the side covers are painted in black, complemented by white double lining on the front mudguard. The Option 719 seat upholstered in the bicolour combination black/oxblood with high-quality diamond embossing blends in harmoniously.

Black as a symbolic colour scheme of great BMW Motorrad tradition also adorns the engine, transmission housing and rear axle drive. The exact designation is Avus Black - a reminiscence of the legendary high-speed race track in Berlin, where BMW Motorrad once celebrated great racing successes and where the Avus monument with BMW Motorrad factory rider Ernst Henne still commemorates it today. Berlin is also home to the BMW Motorrad production plant. The plant located in Berlin-Spandau is not only a production site, it is also the lead plant for the international motorcycle production of BMW Motorrad.

The R 18 100 Years is complemented by numerous chrome parts from the Chrome design option. The high-quality and durable galvanic surface coating can be found on these parts: Handlebar fittings, gearshift and foot brake levers, handlebar clamps, handlebar weights, mirrors, brake master cylinders, brake calipers, engine casing covers, cylinder head covers and intake manifold trims.

Other features of the BMW R 18 100 Years also include chromed Akrapovi rear silencers with perforated tailpipe trims in the &quot;propeller style&quot; of the BMW brand logo. Safety and comfort are ensured by Headlight Pro with adaptive turning light, reversing aid, electronic cruise control and heated grips. As part of the optional equipment ex works, the new BMW R 18 100 Years can also be equipped with anti-theft alarm system, pillion package, running boards, Hill Start Control, lockable fuel filler cap and power reduction.

With the R nineT and R 18 models in the Heritage experience world, BMW Motorrad is paying due tribute to its almost 100-year history and tradition, which is inextricably linked with the legendary boxer engine. Tradition and history can also be found at the BMW Motorrad production plant in Berlin - the birthplace of almost every BMW motorcycle for over 50 years. The iconic design and the unmistakable boxer engine illustrate that it&#039;s about the roots of BMW Motorrad, about historically inspired shapes and details, about an authentic riding experience and about reducing motorbikes to the essentials. In short: The Heritage world of experience is all about a unique attitude to life, shaped by the legendary boxer engine.

    <title>BMW Motorrad presents the R 1250 GS Trophy Competition</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-the-r-1250-gs-trophy-competition</link>
<description>Rugged cliffs, deep valleys, raging rivers and the breathtaking Mediterranean coastline are the challenging terrain of the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy from 4 to 10 September 2022 in Albania. The country is still considered a real insider&#039;s tip for off-road adventures, and this year 126 models of the R 1250 GS Trophy Competition, specially built for this event, will be available to the participating enduro riders from all over the world.

Superior thrust and power as well as customised equipment for challenging adventures in the most difficult terrain.

While the BMW F 850 GS was used as the competition bike at the last International GS Trophy in 2020, BMW Motorrad is returning to the competition with the R 1250 GS Trophy Competition featuring the flat-twin boxer engine. This offers the original, superior power delivery, beefy torque and maximum traction for the sometimes very demanding off-road passages, which often require riding in low gear. In addition to boasting an exclusive two-tone paint finish in Lightwhite uni / Gravityblue metallic matt in combination with specially designed GS Trophy stickers, the R 1250 GS Trophy Competition heads into the seven-day adventure featuring a whole series of changes made especially for this competition. For the model year 2023 the R 1250 GS will also be offered in this two-tone paint finish.

For example, this year&#039;s BMW International GS Trophy Competition Bike features, among other things, a robust enduro engine guard made of aluminium, a headlight protection guard, cylinder head covers that are particularly well protected against damage and a TFT display that is secured against damage in a fall and from falling rocks. The particularly robust enduro footrests from the R 1250 GS Adventure and adjustable gearshift and footbrake levers are just as much in keeping with the tough off-road use ahead of the bikes. Metzeler Karoo 4 tyres are mounted on the cross-spoke wheels, replacing the standard Karoo 3 tyres to ensure the best possible grip on difficult terrain. Sports windshield, rally seat and Akrapovic rear silencer round off the equipment of the competition vehicle.

Small Tank Bag Adventure Collection as a practical companion during long exhausting riding days.

With its 5 litre capacity, the small tank bag from the new Adventure Bag Collection offers the International GS Trophy participants another practical storage option for all kinds of utensils and some food and drink for the road. Thanks to its fasteners, it can be used as a rear bag on the R 1250 GS Trophy Competition. A waterproof inner bag, water-repellent and lockable two-way zips on the main compartment, a zipped lid pocket and a cable opening for a charging cable to the inside are further useful details of the Small Adventure Collection Tank Bag.

<title>BMW Motorrad presents ConnectedRide Com U1</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-connectedride-com-u1</link>
<description>Talk to your pillion passenger or other group members while riding, listen to your favourite music together, make phone calls or follow the announcements of the navigation system the new BMW Motorrad communication system ConnectedRide Com U1 offers all this via Bluetooth or Mesh 2.0 technology.

The new ConnectedRide Com U1 features a modern, universally compatible design and can be attached to such helmets as the BMW Motorrad StreetX, GS Pure and Sao Paolo. Impressive audio performance, a high-quality sound and excellent wear comfort are delivered by the HD-quality speakers, which are very easy to fit in the helmet.

Furthermore, the ConnectedRide Com U1 is equipped with an FM radio that allows up to ten radio stations to be saved. Channel search is at the touch of a button or alternatively via the free Com U1 app.

The entire operation of the ConnectedRide Com U1 is carried out intuitively via four buttons or alternatively via the app, which also offers various setting options. Various functions can be activated via the voice control, depending on the operating mode. Voice control is available in eight languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese and Russian. If the mobile phone is connected directly to the communication system, convenient access to digital voice assistants is available, thereby enabling voice input.

Intelligent audio mixing ensures a particularly high level of communication comfort. For example, if you are speaking via Bluetooth Intercom and a navigation announcement comes in at the same time, the volume of the Intercom is reduced for the duration of the announcement.

When the headset is switched on, an LED flashes to indicate the battery charge status. If the charge level drops too low during use, an automatic voice announcement is heard. The battery life is up to 13 hours with Bluetooth Intercom and up to 8 hours with Mesh Intercom.

The quick-charge time is one hour. In addition, the quick-charge function enables operating times of 3.5 hours (Mesh Intercom) or 6 hours (Bluetooth Intercom) after only 20 minutes of charging.

Via Bluetooth, the range of the Intercom is up to 2 km in open terrain. Via Mesh, this range can be extended to up to 8 km in open terrain if at least six riders are connected and riding at a maximum distance of 1.6 km from each other. For optimum range in Mesh mode, the unit is equipped with an antenna that can be conveniently folded in and out.

During active group communication, six users can speak simultaneously. As an alternative to communication via Mesh, it is possible to set up communication via Bluetooth with two participants.

There are two options for communication via Mesh:

Group Mesh Intercom: Creation of private, closed groups for Mesh communication with up to 24 participants.

Multi-Channel Open Mesh Intercom: The multi-channel protocol in Open Mesh enables switching between nine communication channels. Anyone on the same channel can talk to the group this option supports an almost unlimited number of riders as long as they are within range. Every participant can listen in.

At the touch of a button, users can switch between private Group Mesh and Open Mesh without having to reset Mesh first.

The Universal Intercom function can also be used to establish a call connection to a person using a headset made by another manufacturer. This can lead to restrictions in the range, however.

Communication via Mesh with communication systems made by manufacturers other than Sena or BMW Motorrad is not possible. Neither is it possible to integrate external communication systems in group communication via a Bluetooth bridge.

Technical data:

 Mesh 2.0 technology.

 Bluetooth 5.0.

Bluetooth profiles: HSP, HFP, A2DP, AVRCP.

<title>BMW Motorrad presents the BMW M 1000 RR as the anniversary model M RR 50 Years M</title>
    <link>https://www.sycamoremotorcycles.co.uk/bmw-motorrad/news/bmw-motorrad-presents-the-bmw-m-1000-rr-as-the-anniversary-model-m-rr-50-years-m</link>
<description>To mark the 50th anniversary of BMW M GmbH, founded in 1972 as BMW Motorsport GmbH, BMW Motorrad presents the M 1000 RR 50 Years M anniversary model in Sao Paulo Yellow finish and with the historic 50 Years BMW M emblem. With its striking M colours, this anniversary model lives up to the M philosophy and the racing spirit from almost 100 years of motorcycle construction by BMW Motorrad and 50 years of BMW M vehicles. The M RR 50 Years M is therefore fitted with the M Competition Package as standard. In addition to the extensive M milled parts package and the exclusive M carbon package, both a lighter swingarm in silver anodised aluminium, the unlock code for the M GPS laptrigger as well as the M Endurance chain, pillion package and pillion seat cover are part of the standard equipment.

M - the most powerful letter in the world.

At the end of 2018, BMW Motorrad already introduced the successful BMW M automobile range strategy for motorcycles and has since been offering M special equipment and M Performance

Parts. The BMW M 1000 RR - known as the M RR for short - finally celebrated its world premiere in September 2020 as the first M model from BMW Motorrad based on the S 1000 RR.

Today, as in the past, BMW Motorrad follows the philosophy of the most powerful letter in the world: M is synonymous worldwide with racing success as well as the fascination of high-performance BMW models and is aimed at customers with particularly high demands for performance, exclusivity and individuality. Last but not least, the BMW M RR has also been the base bike for the BMW Motorrad World SBK Team since 2021, as well as many other racing teams around the world.

BMW Motorsport GmbH and BMW M GmbH (since 1993).

The BMW Motorsport GmbH was founded in 1972 with the idea of uniting all BMW motorsport activities under one roof and building up high-performance racing vehicles and racing engines for motorracing. The BMW 3.0 CSL (CSL = Coupe Sport Light Construction) made its debut as the first racing car of BMW Motorsport GmbH in 1973 and on the occasion of the foundation of BMW Motorsport GmbH, Robert A. Lutz, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG for Sales in 1972, stated at the time: &quot;A company is like a human being. If it does sports, it stays fit, enthusiastic, more effective and powerful.&quot;

The BMW 3.0 CSL made its debut in the European Touring Car Championship in the 1973 season, and with it a racing team&#039;s uniform appearance in the three BMW Motorsport colours of blue, violet and red on a snow-white background that is still defining to this day. This colour scheme in the updated version Blue - Dark Blue - Red determines the appearance of the BMW M logo and the BMW M vehicles until today.

The legendary colour scheme can already be found on the first BMW M vehicles developed for the road in the second half of the 1970s and also characterises the racing vehicles to come and their motorsport successes. For example, in 1978 the M1 super sports car and from 1980 onwards the Formula 1 racing cars with which Nelson Piquet won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1983.

From the Isle of Man to Dakar - BMW Motorrad and motorsport.

But it is not only since 1972, and not only in BMW automobiles, that the BMW brand has been driven to win. Outstanding racing successes and innovations also stem from motorsport. Even in the first decades of the company&#039;s history, BMW and motorsport were linked with unforgotten names such as Ernst Jakob Henne and Georg &quot;Schorsch&quot; Meier. The legendary victory of &quot;Schorsch&quot; Meier with his supercharged BMW in the 1939 Senior Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man is unforgotten.

And in 1976, exactly 37 years later, Helmut Dhne and Hans Otto Butenuth celebrate fifth place in the Production TT. In this class up to 1000 cc they set the fastest time with their BMW R 90 S, but due to a handicap rule that applies there, they were listed in fifth place in the classification behind two 250cc and two 500cc machines. Nevertheless, given the fastest time, this fifth place was celebrated like a victory.

75 years after &quot;Schorsch&quot; Meier&#039;s success in the Senior TT, Michael Dunlop succeeds again in 2014 on the BMW S 1000 RR. And in the years that followed, the RR left its unmistakable mark on the Tourist Trophy with further victories.

But the BMW M colours are also represented on BMW motorcycles off the beaten track. For example, on the BMW GS factory bikes with which Hubert Auriol and Gaston Rahier dominated the Paris-Dakar Rally in the early 1980s.

Like no other BMW motorcycle to date, the M RR 50 Years M model carries this historic motorsport DNA within it. This exceptional motorcycle can only be ordered between 21 May and 30 November 2022.
