Dynamics for every ride
More flexibility for your everyday life: With the M Sport version, the riding modes Pro are expanded to include a Dynamic Pro mode in addition to the three standard riding modes, Rain, Road and Dynamic. You have the option to customise the throttle response, Anti block system and Dynamic Traction Control characteristics. The sport suspension with adjustable rebound and compression stages further refines the setup. This means you can stay in control in any situation.
Perfect performance weight
48 hp meets a kerb weight of only 175 kg, making full use of the permissible performance weight of the A2 class. This is what makes the F 450 R so agile and direct. Even at 3,000 rpm, 80 % of the maximum torque of 43 Nm is available. This means you can accelerate out of bends with confidence, activate overrun mode early and ride off with ease and dynamism.
Grip and control
The Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres, which are included as standard, combine grip, rapid heating and durability, even in rainy conditions. At the front, a 310-mm single disc with a radial Brembo four-piston fixed caliper allows for powerful deceleration. ABS Pro Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Brake Control and engine drag torque control are all included as standard, and offer support when braking or accelerating, and in overrun mode.
Two-cylinder in-line engine
420 ccm, 48 hp and powerful overrun, even at low rotational speeds: the two-cylinder in-line engine can achieve a maximum of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm. 80 % of that is available at only 3,000 rpm. As such, the F 450 R responds spontaneously to your throttle commands and offers powerful acceleration. The crankpin offset of 135 degrees mitigates unwanted vibrations and gives the engine its emotive character.

Puristic Naked Bike flyline
The minimalist and pared-down look means that your BMW F 450 R gives off an air of dynamism, even when at a standstill. The reduced number of body parts means you have a clear view of the engine and the tidy technology. The brawny steel tank with pulled-down radiator cowls and the sleek, elevated rear form the front-wheel-oriented geometry of the Naked Bike.
The reinterpretation of the “tail up, nose down” principle of the BMW S 1000 R gives the BMW F 450 R a tried-and-tested Naked Bike aesthetic, while also ensuring a unique presence. The line that descends from the back to the front draws your eye to the pared-down front. There, the J-shaped daytime riding lights create a clearly recognisable look.
Premium features, down to the last detail
The gold-coloured 43-mm upside-down fork clearly demonstrates the bike’s premium character based on the front alone. With the Exclusive and M Sport variants, the rebound and compression stages can be adjusted, combining the design highlight with an individually tuned setup.
The M Sport variant has tapes that draw the eye to the wheels in a targeted way. They use the M colours and carry the dynamic aesthetic forward – for a look that is clearly identifiable as M Sport, even in motion.
The premium character is also reflected in the components: the forged gearshift and footbrake levers and side stand, the aluminium handlebars and bolted rear footrest peg ensure a high-quality, constructive and tidy aesthetic.

Trusted from the first metre: a seat height of 790 mm, a slim waistline and an inner leg curve of 1,770 mm all make it easier to reach the ground. A kerb weight of 175 kg and the large steering stop make low-speed riding and manoeuvring even easier. The shift assistant Pro, which is installed in the Exclusive and M Sport variants, allows for effortless gear changes, offering relief in dense urban traffic. The first time, and every time.
Ready for your daily routine
The three levels of grip heating included keep your hands nice and warm. This means you can operate the throttle, clutch and brake in comfort, even in colder conditions.
The brake and clutch levers can be adapted to suit your grip width as standard. This makes them easier to operate, even for those with smaller hands.
You can keep an eye on the connectivity features and journey information on the conveniently positioned 6.5-inch TFT display. Link your smartphone up for telephony, music and, depending on the market, navigation using arrows. The USB-C socket provides power on the go.
Support when it really matters
Extra control when it really matters: ABS Pro offers support when braking, even when in a lean angle, and the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) counteracts traction loss when accelerating. Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) helps with severe braking manoeuvres, and the engine drag torque control (MSR) offers support when the engine drag torque is high. All included as standard.
