BMW Motorrad Announces Model Updates for 2027

BMW Motorrad has announced a wide-ranging series of colour, equipment and package updates for the 2027 model year, giving riders new ways to configure several of the brand’s road, touring and M performance motorcycles.
The revised configurations are due to become available to order through BMW Motorrad partners from August 2026. The changes do not replace the current range; instead, they refine model choices with new finishes and carefully reorganised equipment packages.
Among the most significant updates is the BMW M 1000 RR. For model year 2027, it receives a newly developed third-generation M Motorsport frame with reduced wall thickness and a weight saving of around 1.3 kg. M forged wheels are now fitted as standard, with M carbon wheels remaining available as an alternative, while new M Track packages bring together focused circuit equipment.
The S 1000 RR gains a new Edition M Sport in Blackstorm Metallic with M Motorsport colours. It combines a tinted windscreen with M forged wheels for a distinctive factory specification. A USB charging connection is also added to bikes ordered in the Dynamic or Edition M Sport configurations.
BMW’s other M models receive a clearer package structure too. The M 1000 R and M 1000 XR can be specified with new M Track packages, making it simpler to group together the equipment intended for riders who want a sharper, more performance-led set-up.
There are useful touring changes elsewhere in the range. The R 1300 R gains a new Touring Package with case holders, central locking and a centre stand, while case holders become available for the R 1300 RS in its Performance configuration. The F 900 R and F 900 XR Comfort Packages now include the low-maintenance M Endurance chain.
New colours and special finishes extend across the R 12 G/S and K 1600 families. These include a new Option 719 finish for the R 12 G/S and fresh Imperial Blue and Edition II treatments across selected K 1600 models.
