Moto Guzzi V7 Sport: A Legendary Name Returns

The Moto Guzzi V7 Sport revives one of the most evocative names in the company’s history, adding sharper chassis equipment and more advanced rider technology to the unmistakable character of the V7.
The familiar 853cc air-cooled transverse V-twin remains at the heart of the motorcycle. In its latest form it produces a claimed 67.3 hp at 6,900 rpm and 79 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, with most of that torque available from low engine speeds. Drive reaches the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox and low-maintenance shaft final drive.
What separates the Sport from the rest of the V7 family is its more focused front end. A 41 mm upside-down fork replaces the conventional arrangement, while twin 320 mm front discs are gripped by Brembo radial four-piston calipers. Lighter cast wheels reduce rotating mass and help the bike respond more readily to direction changes.
A six-axis inertial measurement unit supports cornering ABS and cornering traction control, giving the rider assistance that responds to the motorcycle’s lean and movement. Three riding modes — Road, Rain and Sport — adjust the electronic settings, while cruise control adds useful comfort on longer journeys.
The V7 Sport still looks every inch a Moto Guzzi. Its sculpted 21-litre fuel tank frames the cylinder heads, the round LED headlamp carries the Mandello eagle outline, and the twin rear shock absorbers preserve the model’s clean, traditional profile.
Blacked-out exhausts and bar-end mirrors give the Sport a more purposeful finish, with machined details providing contrast. For 2026, the new Rosso Monza finish draws directly on Moto Guzzi’s sporting history.
This is not a move away from the easy-going V7 formula. Instead, the Sport adds greater braking performance, more precise suspension and sophisticated rider aids while retaining the engine character, shaft drive and relaxed proportions that make the V7 so approachable.
