New Voge DS800X Rally: Adventure Without Compromise

The Voge DS800X Rally brings serious off-road ability to the middleweight adventure class, combining a strong twin-cylinder engine with long-travel suspension, a large fuel tank and an unusually complete standard specification.
At its heart is Voge’s new 798cc parallel-twin engine. A 270-degree firing order gives the motor a distinctive feel, with a claimed 93.8 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 81 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Two selectable riding modes allow the response to be adapted to the road or trail ahead.
The chassis has been developed with mixed-surface riding firmly in mind. Fully adjustable KYB suspension provides generous travel, while 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tubeless spoked wheels are fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. Nissin braking hardware, switchable ABS and switchable traction control give the rider useful control when conditions change.
Despite its rugged focus, the DS800X Rally has not forgotten long-distance comfort. The upright riding position is supported by an 850 mm seat height, heated grips and a heated rider’s seat. A 24-litre roto-moulded fuel tank helps extend the distance between stops, while the screen, hand guards and broad front bodywork offer welcome protection on faster roads.
A portrait-format 7-inch TFT display places key information directly in the rider’s line of sight and supports smartphone connection. Voge also includes practical features that are often found on an options list, including tyre-pressure monitoring, USB and USB-C charging, auxiliary lights and a forward-facing 1080p camera.
Protection and touring preparation are equally thorough. Engine bars, a centre stand and a rear luggage rack are fitted as standard, making the bike easier to live with at home and better prepared for luggage or longer adventures.
With 220 mm of ground clearance and a claimed kerb weight of 213 kg, the DS800X Rally has the proportions of a purposeful adventure bike without moving into the heaviest end of the category. It should appeal to riders who want one motorcycle for commuting, touring and exploring routes beyond the tarmac.
