Royal Enfield Bullet 650: A New Heart for an Enduring Icon

POSTED: 30/07/2026

The Royal Enfield Bullet has entered a new chapter with the arrival of the Bullet 650, bringing the familiar design and character of one of motorcycling’s longest-running names to the company’s acclaimed twin-cylinder platform.

Although its engine and equipment have moved forward, the Bullet 650 remains immediately recognisable. The sculpted fuel tank features hand-painted gold pinstripes and a traditional winged badge, while the classic casquette headlamp and twin “tiger eye” position lights preserve the model’s distinctive front profile.

A pair of chrome peashooter exhausts provides another clear connection to earlier generations. The generous step-up bench seat and raised handlebars create a comfortable, upright riding position intended for relaxed everyday journeys and longer rides.

Power comes from Royal Enfield’s 647.95cc parallel-twin engine, producing 34.6 kW and 52.3 Nm of torque. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch, providing smooth progress in town with enough performance for faster open-road riding.

The engine is housed within a steel tubular spine frame, supported by telescopic front suspension and twin rear shock absorbers. A 19-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear preserve the traditional proportions, while front and rear disc brakes are supported by dual-channel ABS.

Modern functionality has been integrated without overwhelming the design. The updated dashboard combines an analogue-style display with information including fuel level, gear position and service reminders. LED lighting, adjustable levers and a USB Type-C charging point further improve everyday usability.

With an 800mm seat height and 14.8-litre fuel tank, the Bullet 650 has been designed to remain practical and approachable despite its increased engine capacity.

Rather than reinventing the Bullet, Royal Enfield has strengthened its established formula. The result combines traditional styling, a relaxed riding position and the smooth performance of the 650 twin in a motorcycle that remains unmistakably a Bullet.
