Vespa 946 Horse: Elegance in Motion

Vespa has introduced the 946 Horse, a numbered limited edition created to mark the 2026 Year of the Horse. Based on the sculptural Vespa 946, it combines the model’s hand-finished character with colours and materials inspired by the elegance and energy of a thoroughbred.
The steel body is finished in a deep bay-brown shade that recalls a horse’s coat. Gloss and matt surfaces are carefully balanced across the bodywork, allowing the light to emphasise the 946’s flowing shape, while restrained gold details provide a refined contrast.
The saddle is a focal point of the design. Premium leather and detailed stitching reflect the craftsmanship associated with saddlery, linking the equestrian theme to an element the rider sees and touches on every journey. Premium leather trims also appear on the handlebars and rear-view mirrors.
Each example is individually numbered, reinforcing the 946 Horse’s position as a collector model rather than a conventional production scooter. The approach follows the 946’s established role within the Vespa range: familiar in silhouette, but produced with an emphasis on material quality, proportion and finish.
For the UK, the Vespa 946 Horse is offered in 125cc form. Its fuel-injected single-cylinder engine keeps the riding experience straightforward, while 12-inch tubeless tyres are fitted front and rear.
Modern technology is integrated discreetly so that it does not distract from the design. Dual-channel ABS and ASR traction control add contemporary rider support, while the single-sided front suspension preserves one of Vespa’s characteristic engineering details.
The result is a special edition with a very specific appeal. It will suit collectors, design enthusiasts and riders who see a scooter as more than transport. The 946 Horse is expressive without being loud, and its equestrian influence is carried through the materials rather than applied as a simple graphic theme.
